It may have been talked about before and I read the little snippet about it but does anyone here actually use the Hori EX2 pad or have any additional information on it?

Picked one up anyway. Just hope I don’t have to pay VAT fees.

You mean the Fighting Stick EX2?
It has a nice layout, but it’s a lot of work to mod.
Or are you talking about the Horipad EX2 Turbo?
the Hori EX2 Turbo controller sorry for the confusion.

Do Hori’s TTT2 and SCV sticks not have the ability to map the stick inputs to left or right analog? All I see are useless button swapping switches. I don’t want to be stuck with just a POV hat in Windows.
sadly that is largely the case, specially for Xbox 360 sticks, as the d-pad works the POV hat and the Left and right triggers work as an axis and not 2 separate buttons.
This is why I still support dual-modding for Xbox 360 sticks when the 2nd system is a PC instead of a PS3. Toodles PCBs does both POV Hat and Left Analog, and the Cerberus can be set up to force left analog (LS) mode.
You also regain the use of button 13 (home/guide) as the default Xbox 360 drivers do not allow the use of the guide button outside of games that strictly operate in MS’ Games for Windows Initiative.

AH, that’s a shame. I guesss that narrows it down to the two madcatz noir sticks. The SCV stick is on sale most of the time, fortunately.

hello peeps, I’ve been reading the OP and parts of this thread but still cannot answer my question:
I previously owned a PS3 and madcatz sf4 TE stick - first generation. I’ve given the stick and the PS3 to my little bro and want to continue playing sf4 on my PC.
I want to buy a new stick, I am thinking of the best available because I can probably afford it right now. I want the highest quality stick available.
Should I hunting the down the TE-S sticks (are they still sold anywhere - in the UK) or should I be looking at the sf x tek VS stick? I have heavy hands so prefer the TE sticks types. Main thing is that I dont mind spending the monies but need to know what I should be looking for. Can someone please point me in the right direction? Any links to UK sites with the items recommended would be very nice. Thank you in advance, really appreciate the advice. (yay first post;-)
edit. Saw the tekken tage TE-S stick. it’s go the noir button layout. No Nice. I want the same layout as standard TE - velix or something. I am thinking seriously about the VS stick. It ticks all the boxes. Its just not a 'TE" stick though. Anyone care to comment? Are TE sticks better than the VS? Are there any TE-S sticks with the standard button layout?
For the most part the "TE"s and the VS is the same stick. The physical casing and the branding is different, but that is it.
If you got the money got for a newer Mad Catz stick over a older one.
Mad Catz own store is the Game Shark Store (Mad Catz bought out the rights to game shark years ago)

Hey guys, I was curious if anyone had any opinions on the best controller for PS3 that is the closest to the Xbox 360 controller. I do not use the d-pad, I use the analog stick. Some in the past have suggested this http://store.gameshark.com/viewItem.asp?idProduct=5270&idCategory=413&scid=madcatz
I have a controller that is for PS3 but is designed like the Xbox, from Power A. It is alright, not exactly the same. Or perhaps people could suggest a convertor for an Xbox 360 controller to a PS3 that is the best and has the least amount of lag. Any help is appreciated guys! Thanks!
None are worth getting. Some people claim the $90 Chronus adapter works but I am highly skeptical.
Basically there no worth wild PS3 to Xbox 360 or Xbox 360 to PS3 adapters.
Your best bet is the Major League Gaming - Pro Circuit Controller from Mad Catz
Oh yeah there some who believe there lag input from the Left Analog when compared to the D-pad (LS and DP settings on some arcade sticks)
Hey Darksakul,
Thanks for the guide. I do, however, have some questions about getting a stick. Been using a ps3 pad, but I’d like to invest on a stick. There are 3 sticks that I’m interested in; Chun TE-S, VS, and the Omni. Thinking of joining the local scene more and bring it around casuals or maybe tourneys.
I can pick up the Chun for 120, and get it dual modded for 100 I think from chowwun. I was reading a page back that you said that the 360 version would be easier to mod and the different dual mods, does it matter which one you choose? Are they all the same, or is one better than the other? The guy I’m buying it off only has a ps3, should I still go for it? Was also thinking of installing a korean stick just to try it out.
About the VS, how heavy is it compared to the TE-S? and is it more of a stick for home use?
I stated starting with a Xbox 360 Stick for dual mods is easier as you already have a Xbox 360 PCB ready to go.
Its easier to find boards that do good PS3 game play than it is to find a good Xbox 360 board, as you choices for Xbox 360 PCBs are slim and for the most part have to be harvested from an existing game pad. Also the wiring becomes easier as well. The alternative is a all-in-one board like the Paewang or PS360+.
There also a number of dual mod kids that do auto-detect, like the chimp and the Cerberus, for a existing PS3 stick you need ether a imp or a DPDT (Double Pole Double Throw) Switch.
As for you choice for sticks, all 3 are good and you can’t go wrong with ether one.
I assume the VS is heavier than the TE-S as the body is bulkier, but not by much.
Also both sticks where intended for end-user home use and not more industrial settings although all 3 sticks are made with authentic arcade parts.
Ah I see. Hadn’t known there were like things like that to look out for. I was told that if I used a ps3, I’d have no auto detect. I’m not sure how much it matters to me. Seems like a small hassle, but not that much. So many choices, so little money.
I guess what I was wondering is if VS was meant for portability to bring to tourneys.
Thanks for the info darksakul, I appreciate it.

What stick is suggested between the two. The SC stick is 60$ off with the SCR going on making it 112$ with shipping. But price is not a problem if the Qanba is voted better.
Madcatz : soul caliber soul edition stick.
http://store.gameshark.com/viewItem.asp?idProduct=5309&idCategory=286
or
Qanba4 (black)
http://eightarc.com/qanba-q4-black
I will be using it as stock. In terms of parts ect. Which would most agree being the better stick.
Thanks
Those two have the same parts. The difference between the two being button/stick layout, and the fact that the Qanba is multi-console.

Cool, helps with my decision.
I don’t know much about parts or anything. I’m pretty new to arcade sticks. Do you have the name of the part or a website to face plates that would replace the soul caliber faceplate (that’s the only thing giving me OCD problems lol)
Thanks!

Art does great work.
Hi all. I’m in the market for a custom personalized stick. I don’t know where I’d go specifically on this forum to get such a thing. I live in Canada so I’d prefer it if it were shipped from within the same country, but if I really must I’m willing to pay for a stick shipment from the States. Here’s all of what I need and want.
Needs: Circle-gate stick (preferably Happ bat-top), custom artwork overlay on the entire top of the stick, seimitsu clear buttons with the artwork visible on/through them. 6-button straight layout with start/select/guide buttons on the front face of the stick.
Wants: Three-way (PC/360/PS3) compatibility, blue LED buttons (light up on button press).
**Budget: **$350 CAD + Shipping.
Anyone know what I can do or who I can contact to get this done for me? I’ve never done any DIY work before, nor do I want to. I want someone else to do all that for me.
The artwork is a single image supplied by me. I was gonna get an AIAB stick, but unfortunately they went under, and I don’t know where to get such a stick now.
