Trust me I’ve been worse xD I’m practicing on one character (my profile pic xD) for AE and 3rd Strike. But yeah, ever since then I’ve always used the controller as a mini-arcade stick but the disadvantage of that is not being able to use Fierce and Roundhouse since they’re the trigger buttons. I agree, using the joystick and a pad are two different things! When I watched some videos about people explaining how to play SF on regular controllers they advised to use the D-pad in place of the analog stick, but my problem with that is doing the dragon punch motion xP
@d3v: How can I use sticks properly if I don’t even have one? That’s why i’m on a search and asking for everyone’s advice xD
He’s on a tight budget. Which I recommended the Fighting Stick V3. Well if u want to practice without spending the heavy buck… do you have a coin laundry place near you? Cuz usually they have an arcade cabinet there with Marvel vs Capcom or Street Fighter Alpha 3 or a Neo Geo. You can practice there for a few quarters. It’s American Hap parts but American style arcade is what most of us got into first.
Thanks Bill! I’ll look for one, I have a good idea where! Will look into the V3 then =) Thanks guys! Helped me so much! Will be back if I have questions, for now keep practicing for me with my controller
Well, after a long consideration I’ve decided to buy the Madcatz TE Stick also found one for 110 bucks free shipping (the round 1 one cuz I like how it emulates the vewlix cabinet’s look) which is why I bought the V3 SA because it emulates the control panel. Once it and the HRAP V3 SA arrive I’ll post pics and give reviews to those who are thinking of buying a high end stick. And no I won’t be biased:tup:. I’m still thinking of buying a Qanba Q2 but I really need a review from people who actually own one. So please help; anyone actually own the thing?:xeye:
NVM I found a Q4 on NIKINGstore for 109.99 so now I need a review on that. Like how it compares to the TE and V3 SA. I like how it is wood framed but I wanna know the built quality and the quality of it PCB since its chinese (no racism intended).
Jmd714 is right the Qanba Q4 is not wood, its metal and plastic.
In fact the Qanba 2, Q2, Q4 blue, Q4 Black, Q4 RAF (The only PS3/Xbox360/PC Qanba Stick) and the Q6 is a plastic body with metal panels.
I can swear the Qanba q3 is not wood ether
In fact this is the only Qanba stick that could be mistaken for a wooden case from the photos
And I will tell you now even that stick is plastic.
F.Y.I. The Qanba Q4 that Focus attackoffers is the Q4 RAF
If you want a Wooden cased stick with Japanese parts, you have to go the custom route.
I telling you it isn’t wood, maybe a earlier [S]crap[/S] qanba stick but not the Q3, looking at the weight at Play Asia the Q3 would be heavier if it was any kind of wood, or wood product like partical board or MDF.
Oh my god, that piece of shit has wood construction.
I can’t tell if it is all wood or just wooded blocks supporting a frame.
Some reason I though you where trolling me the way you said it.
Not apologizing or even admitting you and jdm is right, that outer frame still looks plastic to me.
I didn’t think Qanba would get wood to look like that. And I still think the stick would be heavier if it is all wood.
Hrap VLX is the crème de la crème for Hori Sticks. My guide only have the last retail price, eBay and Amazon sellers sell the stick at alot higher price.
A Hrap VX or V3 would be just as good if your looking for a Hori stick with authentic Japanese buttons.
I am not saying the price isn’t worth it, a 1975 Ford Mustang in mint condition is worth the price, but do you need a 1975 Ford Mustang in mint condition?
Just saying, I rather you think about it and maybe do some more research, read other peoples reviews. If then you want to save up for a VLX, awesome go for it.
If you want to go with something a bit more affordable that is cool too.
I have recently bought the HRAP V3 SA and the Madcatz TE RD 1 because of their emulation of the Vewlix look. However at that time being the scrub I am I did not know about the HRAP VLX. Those 2 alone I bought put together was already enough for me to buy a VLX. Sigh… guess I’ll wait and save money to buy it i guess; then I’ll have the full Vewlix package XD.
Qanba 3 arcade sticks are far from being “pieces of shit” as you say, Q3’s are actually very good build quality, have a JLF and 8 x OBSF-30 + 6 generic screw-ins, and mod friendly thanks to the extra recessed buttons they have on the side. The wiring is also incredibly neat with plenty of plugs and quick disconnects.
It is solid wood construction with a top and bottom metal plate. The wood is finished in a smooth black and red which is why it may not look like wood from the pics.
I’ve owned one of these sticks for the better part of a year now and have few complaints.
