I’ll give this thread a try. Recent song, Robin Thicke/JT-sounding vocals, and the hook sounds like “One Nation Under a Groove” Parliament Funkadelic (the “ready or not here we come” part). Typical pop music electro-house beat. Any ideas? It’s eating my brain goddammit.

A while back an 80s pop song was on the radio at work. I couldn’t hear most of it so I vaguely remember ."…tell daddy I’m going away(?)" “I’m standing up to what I’m saying”, and I’m not sure if I’m even close to being accurate on those partial lyrics. Its pretty up beat, could be a song used in a montage. Singer is female. I tried Madonna, Gloria estafan and other heave hitters but can’t find it.

Checked that video. The song isn’t one that frequently got played like in that video. But its mainstream enough to be played on this radio station that plays 80s pop.
