What side has the better MvC2 roster

Soo is still a great player.
Magnetro’s Magneto has crazy resets that nobody does.
Mike Z is well Mike Z…
voted west

Look at a fucking map. Seattle=West Coast.

Wong & Sanford vs The World, I’ll bet on Wong and Sanford. So EC > WC.
I mean, there’s a WC/Dipset vs EC thread where Wong and Sanford arn’t allowed to compete. lol
SO much talent on the WC though…and whytf does Combofiend not get a WC mention?

I think I can beat MikeZ

you might be thinking of the same dude i was talking about. i’ve only seen one strider that impressed me mroe than clock…

vidness: anybody with patience could beat mike z…

yipes has the best magneto… you put soo, magnetro, and sanford’s magnetos together, you get yipes… now, if yipes knew how to fight off spirals, he’d be a LOT more valuble… but as of right now… a decent spiral player scrapes him… as we saw the assrape at evolution…

The homie yipes got a dope magnus. When i saw him @ Evo duke really impressed the shit out of me.

As far as whos better. I’ll say Ec.

Shot out to those Ec homies still repping hard doing their thing.

The Marvel characters are better than those Capcom ones. Yeah.

 I think Mike Yipes is the best in the world RIGHT NOW IN MVC2

i dont want to sound like a cockrider but magnetro can do stuff with magneto that yipes will never do or understand whats going on in a 100 years (litterally). maybe soo + sanford = yipes, but you cant add magnetro in there by a long shot.

ps. is there vids of sanford? the last vid i saw was probably 2002, then i thought he quit but i guess not. and i thought sanford = santhrax. santhrax does not have a mag, so i would like to see this crazy mag of sanford.

Not to be mean, but magnetro is a combo video maker, and just that. Not a tournament player. Progammable pad = infinite possibilities.

Yipes is that piff when it comes to magneto/storm

Only 2-3 storms are as good as his, but his magneto is unmatched. His mind games/cross-ups are actually POSSIBLE.

also, lol @ you being wc top-players.

Not really. I said perhaps. I thin Justin and Sanford would win and the others COULD win. Potter from WC seems pretty consistent as well, and the Seattle crew too.

What I really disagree with is people nominating guys like Mike Z and Magnetro as top players. Mike Z is a top player because he loses early in every major using a weird team? Many people can do that. They just rather use real teams and have a better chance of getting at least top 8.

To be clear, winning tourneys is good proof of skill. Releasing videos is good proof of interest in releasing videos. Or else we could say that Preppy is much better than Justin Wong (don’t ge me wrong; Preppy is the biggest help in the communitym but wong is much better at playing Marvel).

I agree with you on practically everything.

To all - Even Clockwork is extremely overrated IMO. He is kind of a better Mike Z. The greatest accomplishment of Clockwork was getting top 16 at a major. There’s at least 50 players who’ve done this already. Chris Schmidt and even Sin have done better, without all the hype. Heck, Eddie Lee made more important thing with Strider/Doom, but hey, Clock has lots of videos, right? He’s gotta be the best.

magneto can do great resets wth a programable pad and 5 or 6 hours to spare. If he plays a best of 20 against Justin’s, Sanford’s or Yipe’s Mags, my bet is 11-0 towards any of the EC players.

Sanford won ECC last year and also the round robin, using Magneto against Justin Wong.

Wong and Sanford can probably play any god character better than anybody. Since Yipes was the first person to take Justin AND Sanford out of any tourneys in the last 4 years, he is the closest by far. No other player has victories against any of them and Yipes has victories over both. More than enough to be third in the country and probably in the world.

edit: Is it true that Yipes started playing in 2004?

that’s exactly what i’m talking about… you see magnetro do all fancy videos and shit… but that’s really not impressive beacuse when you see him play, you see him fuck up the fancy shit he does, and he loses because of it. while it’s very possible that he knows more about magneto, yipes can actually do more successfully in a match… otherwise you’d see magnetro get top 3 at evolution. yipes, after playing seriously for six months gets #2 rank… yeah, ok, yipes sucks, keep dreaming holmes.

what i meant by saying that you put soo, magnetro, and sanford together…

he’s got the execution prowless of soo, and the understanding of magneto as soo, he’s got the flashiness and comboability as magnetro, and the rushdown of sanford… now, in each category, yipes loses individually, but no other player matches him in putting all that is magneto together and beasting on your ass…

you can watch videos, as i did… and you can talk all you want… but when you actually get rushed by this guy, your perspective on how he plays magneto completely changes… u don’t breathe when fighting yipe’s magneto…

johnnyeight:
yipes started playing in 2k4, but he sucked, and didn’t compete… then in about march 2k5 or so (i don’t know exactly cuz i was out of NY for a while at this point, and didn’t hear about yipes til just before evo), he started playing seriously… yeah, he was only being competitive for about 5-6 months before evolution

and yea, if you can get the clash videos, you can see yipes vs. sanford and yipes vs. wong… they are some of the most intense mvc2 matches i’ve EVER seen.

not to jump on the sanford club bandwagon, but you’re the best i’ve ever seen, no lie.

i think it’s funny that you posted this right after sanford

sanford’s magneto can be seen in the ECC9 (i think) videos, and in the clash videos… he also has a combo exhibition with him a LONG time ago, maybe two or three years now… where he just went crazy and does all this nice shit with mags…

South. Texas alone has been holding it down for years. :nunchuck:

Yall niggas dumb you already know wtf it is. DIPSET

mike z isn’t a top player

just because you use low(er) tiers doesn’t make you great at the game

Yeah, I agree with everyone here. I’m no good versus people when it counts. I actually can do a lot of the stuff in my mag video by hand (on agetek) but it doesn’t really matter in a match. Anyway, I’m not good versus people… I think that not being good at tournaments applies to anyone who makes videos cough cough joo cough cough. I just know a looooooot about the game in the non-so-useful way and have really good execution on an agetek.

ALTHOUGH IIRC MikeZ placed really high @ 2k4 (like 2 or 3 matches from top 8)

 @ danny thinking seattle doesn’t = WC.

wong, sanford, yipes…this thread has to be a joke.

i shit on clock all day long, and every chance i get

but back when SHGL was open clock could beat 95% of socal easy

and every monthly SHGL could nearly be considered a major

IN CONCLUSION

YOU DON’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT MARVEL SHUT THE FUCK UP

edit

are you guys talking about LAW? ec strider/doom player?

law is dope as fuck but clock is still best strider/doom, but that still doesn’t mean anything because strider/doom fuckin sucks

lol didn’t Clockwork also get fifth place at Evo2003? He does seem to get owned by Justin tho.
