"What people msg you after you beat them" MvC3 edition

isnt it bad enough you wreck me 18-6 now i feel all naked on here…ps some guy from srk gave me this really pretentous message about how he would absolutely rape me in off line after i almost beat him using my she hulk strategy but lost becuase stupid lag screw up my rapid fire fist.

How are you getting people to stay for 40 games? They always leave after 1 or 2 against me.

Play your friends in it? We play all night well past 40 games.

That looks like a ranked match win screen, he must have fought and beat 40 people straight. Or just not have lost 40 times straight in between turning on and off the PS3. It saves your win streak status in that case.

That’s ranked not player match. Some people just ragequit in disgust against me, but whatever haha. I’m not even good with Dorm like that, I just figured I’d give him a go again.

I ALMOST sent some ragemail tonight. I was having a particularly bad night (trying to learn Wesker and Taskmaster, so I stuck to playing them.) Some guy I played was just doing the absolute most basic stuff against me and wailed on me for like 13 matches. He was running Zero, Trish, Hulk. His zero would just jump and shoot lv.1 busters, and if I got near him, he would come down with j.:H: into an LMHS, LMHS (seriously, he used L in air combos) to Aerial Exchange x3. This really, really made me salty, because the breaker only worked TWICE the ENTIRE time I played him, and it always built him enough meter to three-way DHC off of anything. With Trish, he would just superjump, shoot lightning, fly, shoot more lightning, and divekick. As soon as I block the divekick, he superjumps and repeats. Can’t jump up to air throw him because I get hit by lightning. By far his most annoying character. His Hulk just superjumped with :s:, did standing :h:/throw, and random Gamma Charges. This was his easiest character to deal with. With any of his characters, he didn’t know ANY combos outside of LMHS, j LMHS, OTG hyper -> DHC. Oh, and aerial exchanges. Despite all of this, and even though I was using two characters I don’t know very well, I still feel really, really salty about losing to such rudimentary, casual player day 1 shit, all the while I’m doing intricate loops, high/low mixups, etc, etc. That’s never happened to me. And it didn’t help that I have little to no experience against Trish. As soon as I lost my Zero, it was done. But hey… it’s Marvel… online Marvel. Tragic things happen.

Salt has ne’er run deeper in me blood.

Oh, and about this taunting business: The best thing to do if you get taunted after a marginal loss is to beat them three times in a row afterward, taunt them after each victory, and then send them a message simply saying “lol.” Usually, the people who taunt after matches aren’t really that good, but they think they are a beast for winning a single online game. It is your duty to put them in their place.

I know what you mean. I just spent some time this morning getting beat up by a guy who played Hulk/Chun-Li/Sentinel and constantly just spammed Standing H, Gamma Charges, Lightning Legs and Drones. He was beating my Dante/Taskmaster/Sentinel team pretty consistently since my normal style of play doesn’t do very well against this kind of very aggressive, unrelenting rushdown. The weird thing is, after a few games I started to do well against him in a match and I’m pretty sure he ragequit! It seems weird to get salty when you’re winning.

Anyway, I’m pretty sure he did ragequit because I got matched up with him again later and beat him (Taskmaster jumping arrows spam FTW) and I received a disconnect on a KO screen. But I was still disappointed that he’d quit because I wanted to try my true spamming team against him (Deadpool/Sentinel/Haggar). Lo and behold, we get matched up again! At first I still couldn’t quite catch the rhythm of how to take apart his attacks but eventually I got into the swing of things and many a Haggar blow-up was received. He was actually doing some pretty decent baiting of my Haggar but failed to capitalize on it enough.

Anyway, after all that I think I expect hate mail from him, even though I felt very frustrated during the matches. Because despite my frustration, I knew that it didn’t matter what tactics an opponent used, if they were beating me then it was a learning opportunity. And I do feel like I improved in my use of advancing guard and understanding of matchups (he would wait for me to call an assist and then Gamma Tsunami them, had to learn to watch out for that).

When This happens to me I laugh… Then I proceed to choose my real team…

usually i play one match, get pissed i cant hit any combos from lag, and swear never to play online again.

Last night this dude Pokernate on PSN rage quit then called me an “X-factor Pussy” because of an X-factor level 3 comeback with Akuma. My response was “lol wut”. He then came back into the room and played a few more matches, getting beat two more times. Then I got a message to the effect of “ure a 9th power ranger, learn how to play the game”

LoL I must be getting a little better as I am starting to get the hate mail, lol 9th power ranger.

He left because he realized that there was nothing Hulk/Chun could really do against Taskmaster arrow spam. Especially Hulk, it’s like target practice for Taskmaster.

I got some mail from the other day:

“Why play the game if you aren’t going to fight? FUC U”

Lol another salty mail because Dorm zoned out his team. Those FC can be nasty! I just messaged him with “I play to piss people like you off”

“SENT IS FOR FAGGOTS”

Off and on you’ll get this, especially from XF3 Sentinel. I asked him if Sentinel raped his mom or something and he called me an asshole rofl.

People that taunt usually have names like RageQuitMoar or something to that degree…oops!?.. to soon?..to soon?

On that topic though some people enjoy finding new people to play with who act like NORMAL people. So if you enjoyed your game with that dude but then he tbags and taunts you…damn sucks… he is THAT kinda guy. Taunts to me is like someone jumping up and down in excitement that they won (which seems funny to me). Most of the time also frequent words in their vocabulary are things like noob, scrub, spam, pwn, rape and other hilarious digital world lingo. So when I get tbagged or taunted (if i feel like it) I will just send my message that says… “sore winner”

I find this to be extremely kawaii to the point I’m could burst into a thousand jelly beans.

I just think taunts are the funniest when some guy finally gets a lucky XF3 after I beat him 8 times in a row and then he starts spamming taunts as soon as I get KO’d. I say to myself “ok guy, enjoy that win, get it out of your system” lol

I swear online play has created a completely isolated generation of players whose salt is on another level entirely. All this shit talking and overzealous taunting would not fly in the bodega back in the day. Shit would be taken outside. With gusto.

I love the idea of people getting genuinely upset over phrases like, ‘Does what a spider can!’ and ‘HULK STRONGEST THERE IS!’

Seriously if any of you feel that salty you need to reevaluate your perspective. After all, you’re playing a game online. I have never sent any salty messages in any game I’ve played and I’ve had my share of ass beatings in FGs, I’d imagine it’s not that difficult to restrain yourself.

I find it cool that Deadpool, the smartest-mouth of the game, has a cancellable taunt. Nothing like j.S after an air series, dash up, taunt, and OTG’ing. Or zoning by taunting every single time before cancelling into guns (works hilariously well against Tron, Hulk, and Sentinel). Then they try to taunt after they kill Deadpool and forget their taunt leaves them in an unmovable state for 3-5 seconds. Sentinel boot to the face and a free combo, lol.

Love me that taunt button.

He later goes on to say that he’ll report me for harassment and blocks me afterwards.
Reason? He got curbstomped five times in a row from me. He’s not really that good, to be honest, and even if I did get footage of the fights, it’d probably be boring to see him get owned over and over again.

Love how people act all hard and then wanna resort to calling the Xbox police even though they initiated the harassing hatemails. Call da po-po, ho.
