Stay free, princes.
Until you beat me, I don’t think you have the jurisdiction to use that sentence against me. We can pretend it does just for you, just this once. It’ll be our little secret.
lol
It’s online, guys. Chill.
I fought this one dude in ranked, and like all the other scrubby phx players online relied on d.phx mashing to win. The first time I beat him he was actually doing well, until XF3 Akuma put him in his fucking place. So I messaged him with “:)” and my next rank was against the same dude, this time I just ran away (if you really wanna piss of phx players online don’t let them transform and get them to an inch of life). I could tell he was pissed, so I just message him with “that phx crap won’t work against me.” Then he goes off like “lol I dunno why you’re mad it’s just a game, calm down”
I’m mad? What gave him that impression? I was telling him that his tactics were lame, and, in order to get better he would have to actually learn some mechanics. Then he’s like “you’re acting like you are the shit in this game blah blah blah” (I was on a 17 game win streak when I fought him) I never once said I was the best or anything, this dude clearly took it wrong. I know I probably approached this dude like a dickhead, but honestly he just blew up whatever I said to him.
Wait, but you’re the one who lost and sent hate-mail… because of a taunt…
I played a dude named Pingu104 or something in ranked, another She-Hulk player. Hes got a fancy 87% win ratio, I rape his face, and he sends me:
“ur a fucking faggot u wanna play cheap ill show u cheap rematch me fucking faggot”
So I play him again, beating him 10-1 (shoulda been 10-0 but I felt like he needed the win more than I did) and he sends me:
“ur a fucking worthless piece of shit go outside”
I personally get a bit rankled when someone taunts me after a win. I mean, isn’t the win good enough for you? Why attempt to rub salt in the wound? I think you should only be able to taunt during the match, and not after a KO or timeout. That way there is some actual risk involved and taunts are reserved only for massively superior players who choose to style. Still, it’s rude. I play to get better, win or lose, and taunting doesn’t help anyone improve.
How does taunting after a victory have anything to do with improving? Yes, here my opponent is defeated. What more can I do in this small window of time to what was once an opponent so I can improve? Spam some moves? Jump? Practice some execution? Dash? Not much I can really do to my opponent. Taunt? No wait, that’s just outright demoralizing! All I’m saying is, complaining about the fact you were taunted doesn’t help improve your game either.
I feel like I’m gonna invite a bunch of stupidity for this but here’s a question. For all the people who hate being taunted, can you tell me how to use it properly? Does it make more sense to use it when I’m losing? What’s the right way to taunt? Does being taunted feel like someone level 3 x-factor dark phoenixed your ego? Is it the worst time someone should press the taunt button is during the time you play this game which basically involves pressing buttons?
Taunts imo are meant to be comical and everyone’s so wrapped up in the moment of being taunted like long and deep flesh wound… the effect is really like taking candy from a baby.
Some recent pm adventures during my online sessions;
Person x after losing to me: "Why do you keep spamming with Wesker? Why are you even here?"
The guy kept falling for gun + shuma assists with teleports… seemingly playing online requires special privileges these days
Person y after rage quitting and falling for the same setup over and over again (Wesker combo DHCing in Dormammu):
“Using the same combo all the time shows that you have no skill”
Some people get so salty these days…
Just don’t taunt because it’s dumb. Taunting in the middle of the match after KOing a character is probably the stupidest shit ever. All the things you have to do after killing a character in this game, creating setups, doing buffs if your character has them (Dormammu, Zero, etc), and preparing unblockables and you choose to taunt. Why.
I would rather my opponent practice execution over my dead body than teabag or taunt over my dead body tbh.
Coincidentally, teabagging me > taunting me lol
On the topic of improving, I’m gonna say that from casual and tournament experience there are a lot of things in this game that make us salty. I realize that getting upset is extremely detrimental to our focus. Whether it’s because we make a mistake that was crucial to our victory from getting setup by our opponent, dropping a combo, failing a reset, or simply losing, whatever, you can’t let it get to you. Your opponent is not responsible for how you feel, so if you get taunted and it gets to you, then you need to get over it. I’m not saying you’re not supposed to react to it, but when you’re online sending messages about being taunted, it’s not about the game anymore more than it’s about you expecting your opponent to play a certain way because you’re not in control. In Marvel? The most disrespectful fighting game, yet?
Seriously, if it gets to you and you’re trying to seriously improve, change the way you feel about being taunted. The frustration you get while playing (especially in a tournament match) isn’t going to help you win if all you’re thinking about is how much your opponent is a douche instead of why it is you lost to a douche in the first place.
I don’t understand why people are getting salty over this. It’s a taunt, it’s supposed to be disrespectful. That’s why it’s called a taunt. Actually I redact my first sentence; you should be getting very salty since it’s supposed to mock you in an insulting fashion. Get very salty indeed.
It’s a fight, we’re all out of sugar.
Got sent “Lol pussy” after I beat a guy 5 out of 6 games and quit to find someone better. wat
personally I only taunt douches that use cheap mechanics to win, dumb shit like sent/doom/xxx (ranged goof) XF1 at the start of the match > beam spam.
"If the game wasn’t laggy, I would be hitting combos too!"
Apparently the guy didn’t understand that I was playing in that lag as well. -__-
**GirlsCanPlayToo **called me a dumbass spammer. Mind you, I was also playing mix-up, but yeah, if you fall for the same tactics over and over again, it’s time to train harder and rethink your strategy.
So apparently, girls can play but they can also cry, too. I’d insert some comment about kitchens and the art of making delicious SANDVICH here, but that’d be chauvanistic.
on xbox a player named : dakota hyr00l said: wow good 1 bitch.
because i beat his entire team with NORMAL phoenix with out using ANY hyper combos… or even x factor…
Around noon today I found myself up against a guy who appeared to have just started online play. He had a record of something like 2-11 when I first went up against him. I somehow end up fighting him for the third time in a row and noticed he wasn’t actually moving his character. I poke him a few times waiting to see if he comes back, and then I find he has messaged me the following:
I try replying back immediately to say I don’t feel obliged to do that. While I try writing up an admittedly long winded message still mid-match he attacks my characters, likely thinking I was letting him win.Only after he knocks out two characters do I come to my senses, cancel the message, exit the menu and scrape another win with just Akuma. After the match is over I reply:
He returns my message with:
I can’t remember the last time I got blocked. I was initially excited about that, but the feeling has passed.
Wow.
It is beyond me why someone would want an unearned win, but it’s further beyond me why someone would think a perfect stranger should take out their time to throw online matches for them… then turn vulgar when you say no? Quite the hypocrite to call you a “boy.”
