I got a “noob puss bitch” message last night. I use Wesker/Chris/Sentinel and he was salty over the robot lol. The convo went into a few more messages on him ranting about how I need to stop playing like a puss and learn to play the game blah blah blah.
Funny thing he was complaining about Sentinel and I was primarily beating him with Wesker and Chris (it was an 2 man endless lobby)
I have received a ton of hate mail so far (mostly because I play runaway all day with Deadpool), but the best one was this: “puting that on youtube as biggest bitch ever”
I told him to send me a message when he uploaded it. Still no sign of it, though.
Ever since the game dropped I’ve had my negative rep go up like 7%, 2 rage-quitters and quite a bit of hatemail for my team of Dante/Zero/Chris, simply since I play a heavy rushdown game with massive combo abuse (mostly Dante/Zero, and I’m sitting on a pretty nice win-streak on the 360 version because of it taking out typical runaways rather well). My last one however was special; from “xG3x SaVaGe xX” today, who started the match (using Akuma/Iron Man/Ryu) by projectile spamming, but made a critical mistake with a bad assist call which led to my Dante taking out both Akuma + IM with a 150 Hit, X-Factored combo, both with near full health. Instantly got a “get a fucking life” message for my troubles, which I had to literally say flat out “Get over it and get better,” since I’m not delusional to say I’m the best player at MvC3 already, which I’m not, but I’m pretty darn good at it.
However, he did what most people don’t do, actually get over it. Eventually I got a “you’re really good tho”, in which I went on to say that Training mode is your best friend in this game and to actually take the time to practice instead of just hopping onto Ranked and winging it. Eventually, I actually started giving him some big advice about how to play to help him out, and I currently have the guy on my friends list for future practice referencing. Just goes to show that getting your butt kicked can really be the wake-up call to try to figure out the ins and outs of a game that’s barely a week old, especially if that guy’s pasting together about 70% of Dante’s arsenal in one combo.
You can play the game how ever way you please, I can’t stop you there. You paid $60 just like everyone else, but seriously, I just don’t get how anyone can have fun using that tactic. Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t see how running away spamming 2 moves every single game you play doesn’t get boring after awhile.
I’ll be honest. I hate people who run away. I have to put up with it almost every game in MvC2 every time I get on. I haven’t gotten number 3 yet, so if what you say is true, then I’m going to have a crappy time online. But like I said, I can’t change the way you play, but that also means I’m not going to like it either. I won’t go as far as sending hate mail, but I really can’t stand that tactic.
My response to this is, is that it is merely a counter to some of the bullshit additions in this game. X-Factor, team aerial combos, etc. are all pretty noob friendly, so you might as well make them earn their way in. There are plenty of counters to the projectiles with teleports, flying, beams, etc. Learn to deal with it.
I played a guy named Alpha Wolf X, we have a few lobby games where we go through all the characters ( his idea ) in the last match, I pick Doom, Dorm and Phoenix. I purposely build my meter up to Level 5, let my 2 characters die then let Phoenix die to get Dark Phoenix and activate X Factor, I proceed to destroy him.
Afterwards he disconnects and sends me this hatemail: ’ fuck u spammer ’
lol, its sad because he beat me in most of the games we played then I act sneaky in one and he gets all pissy over it!
Something tells me Dark Phoenix is going to be subject of a lot of hatemail.
There are plenty of characters who, by their movesets and movement abilities, are plainly designed to be played in a long-range keep-away style – it’s intended by Capcom.
Do you expect people to play Dormammu or Arthur hardcore rushdown style like they’re playing Zero or something?
