I have to politely disagree with this.
Ryu has always been the Balance Character…the most well rounded character in the game that represents a well balanced toolset.
He is the character that Capcom more or less encourages you to learn the game mechanics with, because he has a GREAT all around game.
Ryu was made to be balanced, it just so happens that being balanced, he is just as easy to use in a defensive way, as he is offensively.
Now…Guile is a character with a defensive moveset.
Amen.

Sorry, I didn’t specify what I actually meant. Between Akuma, Ryu and Ken, Ryu has the defensive moveset…though overall he is virtually unbeatable if you play good defense.
I like being an offensive Guile…cause no one see’s it coming until you destroy them.

Akuma has SUCH a good runaway fireball game…his defense would be absolutely TOP NOTCH if only his stamina weren’t nerfed.
((But if his stamina weren’t nerfed, he would be damn near broken)).
Reading that, I’d say that CitizenGT wasn’t being a dick at all. He was simply wrong, and he could’ve easily been informed without “lol scrub i ownz you bye now” assholery.

I wasn’t comparing myself to Daigo he thinks Ryu players are supposed to be offensive rushdown like Cammy or Rufus so I was like have u ever heard of Daigo I no way compare myself to Daigo my point to him was if he was playing Daigo he would do the same shit I did to him since he’s not limiting his options I’m very surprised that yous would think I would even consider comparing myself to Daigo I suck ass in reality.
Edit:And about the best of five I left after the 1st round because this kid was just awful and I didn’t want to waste my time with him now I now I just sounded very cocky just now but I’m training for a local tournament so I want to spend the majority of my time playing “good ppl” instead of whiny 12 year olds that’s not gonna get me anywhere I play them once that’s it no problem I thought maybe if I play him in his challenge his anger will make him play better still beated him 3-0 so I said to myself “waste of time” and left.Ok yes I could be a nice guy and then I could be a big asshole but I really feel I wasn’t getting anything out of this only bad habits that will cost me in the long run.
You know sometimes a person has to get warmed up(I know I do) so bailing out in the first round proves nothing and if you are better than him you could have given him some friendly advice on what to do. He can either accept that info or act like a douche and say screw you. I think he beat you mentally when you ran off before you finished the first to five series.
I finishes the first game 3-0 didn’t get anything out of it if this was in person different story
or even worse, you can be in a bad day, and no matter how hard you try, you simply cant get your game right, at least that happened to me sometimes, (not saying that all the lose are related to that)
I get almost only negative feedback from other players, the only really positive messages i’ve got are “good games” etc from people whom i just barely lost to.
The rest is almost all just nasty names and accusations of being cheap and so on.
I’m wondering if my character is annoying to play against (Dhalsim) or if i am actually cheap somehow.

Also, how do you expect bad players to get good without playing better players? You can only go so far in practice and training mode.
Ok well grant it If I’m the better of him(CitizenGT)I guess I shoulda stayed and played him the whole way through after his challenge so he could “learn from it” more and do my part on helping him get better but I really didn’t read him off as being a learner as opposed to him not picking up on anything and wasting both my time and his time.
And trust me once again I don’t mean to be a egomanic but with his mentality of trying not to “spam” or most important “play to win by any means necessary” he will never beat me even if we played for 5 hours straight since he’s ignorant plain and simple and that’s why I left after the 1st game and said GG goodnight hope u learned something.
Btw I’m using Daigo as an example I by no means compare myself to Daigo or will ever be Daigo I was trying to help this kid by explaining to him how to play the game right by playing to win the easiest way I can.Fuck this kid didn’t even know the full meaning of the word “zoning” he got it confused with rushdown so I was explaing the difference and it went over his head.

How is saying he’d play the exact same way as you in that situation not comparing him to you? Isn’t comparing his play style the same thing? It is about HIS play style. And it really isn’t anyone’s right to tell someone the right way to play the game. I just find it amazing you can label him as ‘ignorant’ and ‘unable to learn’ off of a few player matches and 3-4 xbl messages back and forth.
