spiral/blackheart/doom/etc were still seeing alot of tournament life at this point in mvc2’s lifespan as well and it looked just as balanced as mvc3 does now

Pikachu in n64 Smash. Fox can hang with her but pika just has multiple juggle combos, the best recovery and the best grabs.
A super whorey kara-grabbing DK was pretty good against the mouse too.

when going through archived mvc2 threads I distinctly remember Viscant saying something along the likes of 20-25 characters were playable…idk when and I don remember the thread I will look though

Back then people just picked whoever was fun, and then they discovered that CE bison was the only one with ToD combos, so they started picking him. lol. Either you picked CE Bison, or you picked CE Guile to counter. There were no other options.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Tournament Fighters’ Karai: Her rush punch attack has infinite block stun (which you can tick to a throw) and infinite hit stun (which eventually leads into a dizzy). Just do it at the start of the match and you win. Also her jumping multi-punch attack has a huge hit box, lasts for the duration of the jump, beats a lot of things (everything?), and can also be ticked to a throw.
