Sadly most players look at this game one dimensionally. You don’t need a vortex or 50/50 mixup PATTERN to win. Like the guy above me said normals are solid. He also has a very fast walk speed while characters such as fei walk like shit. Fei has a good focus but no throw game. Rog has running punches with armor, this is an amazing tool that almost no one gets. I mean I’m sure you all have felt frustrated when abels wake up with ex change of direction (rekka) well rogs is much more dangerous. Like another person said his air game is op. People who are using only some of his giant arsenal are limiting themselves and defeating themselves. His Wakeup game isn’t even necessary since he has so much positional control. I sometimes feel as if I can get anyone into the corner in 5 seconds with this rog
I think it unanimous that Balrog has the best normals and zoning in the game but (for me anyway) the whole situation changes when I get knocked down by a character with lots of mix up options. Take Akuma for instance. Akuma’s Ultra 2 can be option selected from a safe jump demon palm. On wake up your options are 1. Back dash and eat an ultra 2. Focus Dash: Palm armor breaks 3. TAP: Eat an Ultra. You could block, however the Akuma player could decide to demon flip throw instead of the option select. So on an untechable knockdown Akuma basically sets up a 50/50 situation for you and they just need to sweep you once.

I think that his normals, speed and his fundamentals along with the occasional armor-cancel/dash ultra make him truly fearsome.
Also he does have some truly powerful os’s.

Btw, how does one go about properly performing this OS?
-Great pokes
-Great Walk speed/Dash
-Good aerials
-Absurd amount of armored specials
-Can easily combo into Ultra and doesn’t have to burn meter
-Best jab in the game
-Godlike Anti-air
-Laughs in the face of projectiles
