Allen could not have been champion after Ken, because in Allen’s story he was defeated by Ken (and lost the title).
It coould be possible than the progression was Charlie->Allen->Ken, where Charlie died and Allen earned it later. Does Capcom have a story from whom Ken supposed to have taken the championship from? Was it Charlie?
Yes, that’s a little better than I explained it. It’s not so much he created Gouki but… let’s say he is Satsui No Hadou. At least this is how it goes during the time of SF EX 1.
And as far as I understand it Garuda being born after Kairi killed Gouki was something that got tacked on, or you can chalk it up to SF EX 2 revealing what really happened at the end of SF EX 1, like most fighters do.
Chances are I said this already, but just in case - when SF EX 1 came about, it was pretty much take it or leave it, there wasn’t that many contradictions to SF’s regular storyline but by SF EX 2 Capcom wanted it to be severed from SF’s storyline and that’s how Gouki died, really the most storyline drastic thing in SF EX.
According to one of the US Strategy Guides of either SF3 New Generation or SF EX1, I forget which - Capcom was debating which of the two games to call Street Fighter 3. You know which one they wound up choosing. And my guestimate based on… well, what I just wrote is that after they decided SF3 NG was the true storyline, they had to do something drastic to severe SF EX from everything. So having older Gouki in SF3 Second Impact and killing / having him dead in SF EX2 is a good way to do that… unfortunately with no endings translated in the US edition of SF EX2 or no book with SF EX2 storyline info in English, good luck figuring out Gouki’s dead in SF EX land without Online help…
The US Martial Arts Championship - in the SFZ series Ken won it because Nash did not compete that year and was chasing after Shadowloo, not because Nash was dead, he doesn’t die until the end of SFZ3 and Ken had won the championship prior to that. So it looks like if you don’t show up for the Tourney or withdraw your belt is up for grabs.
It’s strange that Rolent would be mentioned at all in EX since Zero characters are supposed to be outside the bounds of Arika’s creations. Does anyone know if D.Dark’s story always had that in it? Sakura wasn’t added until +alpha, so if he was that would be wierd.
well, you could count Guy if you wanted to (his name was never mentioned but he’s a Bushinryuu ninja and Hokuto, Nanase, Kairi are supposedly in a Bushinryuu clan).
in reply to the original topic, couldn’t skullomania be incorporated in the street fighter comic storyline? he seems to be owned by capcom since he is the only SF EX character to be featured on some covers of capcom books (like capcom design works and that all about capcom book i can’t remember). anyway here are the pics:
That’s a false rumor that’s been floating around for a long time and is not true. Hokuto, Nanase and Kairi are part of the Mizukami Clan, they have nothing to do with Bushinryuu. You can beat SF EX3 with Nanase, read her ending and find this out for yourself. This in itself is really obvious that it is untrue because there can only be one Bushinryuu master at one time as Guy’s SFZ2 ending demonstrates, not 3 or 4.
Both of those books feature SF EX games and/or artwork from them, it’s not a big deal for Capcom to use some of the characters in those covers since the cover is advertising games that are in the book. They had no problem using Super Deformed Wolverine on the cover of Capcom Illustrations and Capcom Early Days for the same reason, the respective copyrights are already in the book. Using Arika’s or Marvel’s characters for Udon’s comic book however is another can of worms all together.
Saw this thread, and unfortunately I don’t really have that much to offer in terms of storylines. If someone could perhaps translate the japanese endings that I have on my site, I’d be sure to host the translations.
Well, I love this thread cause I love SFEx characters. Hehe. But I’d like only to make a question: does anybody know any site which has SFEx artwork? Thanx.
Not sure if this was brought up, argued, etc., but in the EX universe Kairi killed Akuma. There is usually some sort of debate over this, guess its cause of the Akuma fanboys and the idea of “How could Akuma be killed!?!?!”, but rest assured Kairi ended him at the end of EX1.
One other small piece of useless info is that Hayate from EX2 was going to be linked to Garuda somehow, either as him or related. Not sure why he was scrapped, but thats supposedly where they were going with his “unknown history” storyline.
Okay, when exactly did this old brought back to life thread get a five star rating? Someone trying to give Studio Udon a hint there? Oh well, good news I guess.
