Its funny bc Chris Tucker really was just in the right place at the right time as far as Rush Hour is concerned. Originally it was supposed to be Martin Lawrence. Can you guys imagine how much better the series would have been with Martin? Dont get me wrong Rush Hour one is great and 2 is watchable. I just think Martin and Jackie would had waaay more chemistry.

Yep…see Tom Cruise…he’s ppayout for the MI series has been ‘good’ but not gdlk…however he gets a nice chunk of the DVD sales…like 4% or something like that - directly in his pocket.
Ice Cube was smart to…he does stuff thru his movie studio - not because he’s trynna Master P shit, and not just for creative control, but it means everytime someone’s at Walmart and decides to scoop that Friday DVD for 5 bux or step up to the Blu-ray even though they got the DVD…he gets a nice cut. Athletes make good money. The owners and TV stations make more.

The Rush Hour movies (sans 3) were entertaining, that’s all I ever expected.
Chris Tucker was barely instrumental in the franchise’s success, he only served to catalyze every bad situation Lee was in into a horrible situation- which made Jackie Chan funnier as a result.
To be honest there were times in the movie where I wanted Tucker to just get offed so Jackie could actually get the job done.
The only scene that matters in any of the Rush Hour movies.

I remember an interview with him I think last year. Basically said the reasons he doesn’t do movies is cus he didn’t like the roles he was being offered. Said he doesn’t spend alot of money so straight up said he can easily sit on the money he has and live a good life doing stand up once in a while to no get bored.

I don’t understand people getting indignant over Chris Tucker milking his employer’s for what they’re worth. No one in their right mind would accept £15,000,000 when they know they can easily get £30,000,000 I sometimes wonder if people still have the mentality that black people should just shut up and accept whatever offer is thrown their way.
no… its the fact you set the movie back. Once a studio sets a budget and billing that is it. Oh so you accept then say oh no I demand ___________ its the fact your not that tier of an actor. its the fact youve couldve gotten way more if you took the JC route. Still not knocking for getting your loot…but what have you done lately? Oh an you in tax trouble. 20 says he will NEVER get that again and has made it even easier for Will Smith to demand off the break. The moment you did that after a studio an its backers set the numbers youve killed yaself in the game. Again im not on that black people need to accept crap but you hustle better. Like sports athletes that will hold out BEFORE the season starts to negotiate terms… you dont see them go in start the season then stop like bump this I want more. Setting the film back is not his problem, evidently it turned out to be advantageous as it put him in a greater position to bargain. Studio having its budget and billing is irrelevant if Chris Tucker’s demands were so outrageous they had the option of scrapping the product, in the end they realised that wasn’t a viable option as the money saved on CT wages would outweigh the money lost from box office/DVD sales.
Not going to address the rest of your post as my initial statements were directed at people’s anger over him getting as much cash as possible, it does not extend to people critiquing his current position in life because it is pretty clear that he shot himself in the foot.
