What exactly is so great about this game?

2 words.

boobie lady.

This is great for it’s a non-GGXX game in a while that Aksys developed that’s not totally broken.
Oh yeah and the netcode is awesome too.

Well, he’s saying that because of your username and the tone of the title of this thread, you come off as bashing blazblue off the bat, whether you want to or not.

Yeah, your post title seems to suggest we’d be hard pressed to come up with any reasons for BB being a great game. The title is implying that BB is not a great game. It’s kind of like saying “Exactly how fat is your mother?”.

It wasn’t like that at all, but oh well.

Yeah, your actual post is just you wondering more about the game.

Regardless of the tone, I still think it’s a worthwhile topic to reply to.

What do I like about blazblue?
the art.
the diverse and original cast.
the large number of options available in many different gameplay situations (the complexity).
online; lobbies, net code.
the voice acting (japanese and english).
the quick pace of the game (you thought it was slow?)

Story mode still hasn’t really grabbed me, but I didn’t buy it for the story mode.
All considered, there’s very little I don’t like about this game.

What Rabbit360 said above about the under laying tones. There are certain things that you could have used to pose it differently such as “What interests you about BlazBlue?” or perhaps “What things made you want to play BlazBlue more?” it was obviously your username and the way you posed your question.

What do I like about BlazBlue?
Graphics
Voice characters/actors
Very long combo’s and lists
6 player lobbies to learn from others/socialize
I like the cast to a degree…though some are stereotypical
I love the drive system.

Pretty much everything about the game to be honest. It’s renewed my faith in fighting games. Plus the community is nicer than let’s say SF4 where you get “NOOB!! screw you a hole!” you get “GG, well played Jin, not an ice spammer”

spamming 2C with Arakune is fun…and there is never a bad time to Eeenfurrno Deevahiidah

=|

if you have it on jpn voices it’s IN-FE-AIR-NO DEE-VAI-DAAHHHH

its something different vs the usual fighting bunch
the music is great especially if you get the limited edtion copy
graphics look real nice on HD
In my opinion its a better polished game than the recent KOF12(im a fan of that genre too)
lots of options and though its roster is small it has very distinct characters not 4 clones
lots of funny animations relating one character to another and excelelnt specials for most characters

Dude, I keep the voices on english just so I can hear Ragna tell people to shut up after inferno dividah. INFERNO DIVIDER, JIN, SHUT UP!

Also, the sound Rachel’s electric chair move makes. [Jpn]
Two very good reasons to get this game.

It is very, very fun. I like to play it and don’t want to stop.

It’s not SFIV.

Agreed.

This.

It’s faster
It has air dashes
It actually has decent story mode.
It doesn’t have clone warriors in the cast.
It’s both accessible and deep.
It has amazing music
It looks nicer.
And above all else it has tons better online code.

All of the above made it first game that i want to master.

  • For such a “small” roster (by today’s standards) it features some of the most distinct characters ever.
  • It’s easy to pick up, but difficult to master so there’s something for everybody to enjoy
  • The netcode is hands down the best I’ve experienced for an online fighter
  • The graphics are great and the music is great
  • There’s lots to do in single player
  • Lobbies + Spectator Mode + Replays
  • No character plays similar to another (IE: The “shoto syndrome”)

…and much more. It’s just a great fighting game in general. It does everything right and has (IMO) only a few things that I’d change/dislike.

And don’t worry about being neg repped. It doesn’t really affect you. I was neg repped once because somebody didn’t like my user name. lol.

Because its fun. And competitive.

I always consider SFIV to be a game of comebacks (but I didn’t like the comebacks in SFIV because only a few characters are really capable of pulling ultras off consistently)

BB has the potential of really unique things happening during the match, and there are a lot of ways to play each character (except for v-13 imo).

its all about the rush!

its like me saying
"ive played street fighter 4 in an arcade for 5 min and the game has good graphic and stuff but the game lacks a time mechien, so im gona say its bad"

but i wont.

(my spelling sucks so bear with me)
blazblue game play is like SF4 except it has more speed into it.
in blazblue each charactor is greatly uniqe (unlike SF where you have ryu and ken both have the same basic skills exept for the hyper aattack)

heres the break down in of blazeblue in my opinon

-music is awesome (even the most redicule of music)
-fighting is fast and stylish and easy to get into
-charactor concept is great (best i think is HAKUMEN)
-story…dont ask its OK for a fighting game
-wider verity of combo and style of fighting (not only based on # of charactor but adding many new tactics allong with the same charator)

its 4.5/5 in my opinion.

i still find street fighter is cool and and a great game but to me, i still dont want to jump over another hadoken unless i could dash in mid air or strafe away. its 3d man come on!

ive played allot of street fighter but i still think the older ones are better.

Compared to Street Fighter:
BlazBlue is faster paced with a much greater emphasis on offense.
Less reliant on one frame links, less lenient about reversal windows.
A much more diverse cast, although not as balanced as SFIV.

Nu and Arakune (Rachel to an extent) have stupid matchups against Hakumen and Tager. You have this to an extent in SFIV, but it stands out a lot more with BlazBlue’s smaller cast.
