I never expected it to be that hard for t.hawk players especially because of the command grab he has but maybe I rate that move to high or that I’m just scared of being 360’d, as a cody player fighting this offensive monster is just so difficult, I don’t even have a game plan because all of them get squashed due to the start up and recovery of fake bad stone also the amount of options on seths wake up or even while blocking, sometimes I wish hk.ruffian had the same properties as makoto’s fukiage… because at least when I predict a dive kick it won’t beat my move clean sigh wtf do characters with poor defense even do against him? block and pray he doesn’t spd as much.
I hate the fact that AE (2012 or not) even exists. Super had near perfect balance and somehow transformed the abortion that was Vanilla into a half decent fighting game. AE and then AE 2012 tried to shove some of the dead fetus back up there.
It’s still better than SFxT, but at the moment I’m like fuck them both. Been playing a lot of Alpha 3 lately. And, yes, it’s still amazing.
seth and elfuerta. sometimes the matchups feels like i’m hitting random buttons until one of us loses.
high reversal leniency. i know it’s easy to bait less skilled players but against players who know what they’re doing, they usually save their reversals at appropriate times. mistime that link? expect an ultra
AE 2012 is fuckin awesome.
Been playin long time with the wolf pack.
Why stop?
I just lost $60 to j.wong’s dirty Rufus in MM last night.
Ft3, $20. I did 3 trials and lost that fight money.
Hurt my pride and I’m mad salty. I can’t lose like that, I need to go hard.
Makes me even more hungry.
But this is the difference between wolves and pussies.
If people r still bitching about sf4.
They’re just not worthy to run with the wolves.
I would have to disagree, there was nowhere near perfect balance in super, half if not more characters could not compete and now you see a much larger variety of characters, top players actually have a few different top characters on there personal list, this was not how it was in super at all, if this was still super, seth would be even worse because he would still have most of the stuff he has today plus a jumping hp for extreme zoning, viper would still have the same things she has today and Cammy would be disgusting, you see how good ex tkcs is in this game so why would you even think it would be better in super where cammy can do it all the time ? Did you not see that video of cammy where she is just spamming TKCS until she finally gets a hit, you could barely even focus attack. I played Cody in super, tell me what you think I did when I was locked in the corner please I’d just love to hear it.
someone needs to find that video and post videos here to educate some people on what went on in super.
yep keep on running with the wolves lmao tell me how it works out
Auctually, the Gen-Seth matchup is pretty even. Gen’s Super and Ultra (especially when comboed together) does a ton of damage; about 3 quarters of a full lifebar when comboed. Seth can’t jump in on Gen, especially when he’s got Super. Seth’s health is low enough that any number of hits will damage him. As a Gen player who mains Seth, I gotta say it’s easier fighting Seth than it is to fight a shoto with Gen.
Top players go where the comp is. Plenty of them would rather be playing games like ST, CvS2 and MvC2, but those games have no tournament scene anymore, so they’re stuck with SF4, SFxT and MvC3. Just because SF4 is tolerated doesn’t mean the people tolerating it think it’s a great game.
Don’t forget about us.
i like the game. its not the most fun or greatest SF i’ve played, but i think AE is the best game since 09. without question.
my complaints about the game are just the walk speeds be increased a tad, that jumps lose some of their heaviness, and that controls be a bit more buttery. i also don’t like how much priority throws have for non grappler characters.
and autoblock. that has to be removed.
i don’t have a problem with ultra comeback system or focus attacks. i do think that a super should do the damage that a full metered ultra does, and that ultras should do half that amount of damage.
ie, i wish the damage outputs were reversed. that supers did the damage that ultras do, and ultras doing the damage that supers presently do. that would be more reasonable.
i like all of the characters in the game…minus seth. i don’t like his character design. i don’t have a problem with his move set except for his wall jump and the massive priority he has with his grabs/throws.
its a fun game.
that requires alotta skill to be good at. alotta nuances to learn. especially learning how to FADC special moves.
and learning how to defend yourself and counter certain special moves that some characters have.
but it could be better.
plus i wish it was in HD 2D sprites instead of 3D polygons, but whatever. thats a minor gripe.
I main Guy
… I don’t really hate the game. I’m just displeased with some of the elements part of the game. It is a good game to play, but it could have been better in a lot of ways, too.
are you actually serious ? we’ve heard countless times from top players that SSF4 is a good game, honestly I don’t understand why certain people demand new fighting games to be like old fighting games when old fighting games weren’t that great to begin with and they had all sorts of broken stuff in them that lead to like 50%+ of your life gone, maybe its just for some street cred, something to please old timers when you go onto forums I dunno, after I played SF4 for the first year I went back and played some of the older games and I really did not see what the fuss was about. Characters were better and there were some pretty nice game mechanics but other than that nothing stood out other than infinite’s and unblockables.
I’m not going to bash you since you’re entitled to your own opinion, but all I can say is ST and 3S are still played for a reason. Same with Alpha 2: these were all fundamentally SOUND fighting games that balanced everything quite well. To appreciate the old fighters you have to recognize the simplistic and yet solid nature of the engine, and the other minor things that made those games great. With that said, I recognize that certain fighters such as Alpha 3 had tons of bullshit in them. But still, ST, Alpha 2, and 3S are the standard for fighting excellence. I’m also waiting to try KOF13, its supposed to be the modern hardcore fighter’s choice.
really easy setups that are strong
example:
cody backthrow then hold jump
guy run slide then hold up
easy safe jump setups that are completely brainless and highly effective.
there are a couple of jump in attacks that i think are too strong. sakura jump hp definitely one of them.
overall i love the game, but there are many things i hate.
turtling is barely in the game. as much as ppl hate it i feel like its a staple of capcom games
Ohohoho.
And Vega too
The fact that it’s a 4th version of the same game.
I just straight up hate this game…
The speed, the reversal input leniency, etc. I just hate this game with a passion.
I wanted to learn it because it was the hype and EVERYBODY picked it up, but now that UMVC3 came out (Im a big versus series fan) and other games that are not only more fun than SF4 but it shits on it gameplay wise, I dropped that shit.
But I will say that this game is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better than SFxT… That shit is pure trash…
This game has probably made me want to go back to 3s
-Nobody needed a nerf, everything was fine.
-The damn game freezes when you try to download DLC in the game.
-Fei Long didn’t need any type of buff, he was already good in Super.
