Either I’m blind or there really is no way to delete your own post. Maybe the delete button is white.
Mouse over your post and look to the right. See that little gear that pops up? That gives you options to delete and edit your posts.

Well, if nothing else, you can at least just edit out your post. I wouldn’t have any problems with that in my section, so I’m sure Val wouldn’t care either. I’ll make a request to see about getting that enabled for all users, though.

I’ve been saying this for a while. How the hell does a gaming forum not have a section dedicated solely to video games? This would alleviate the need for some of these dumbass “mega-threads” in both forums and spark more discussion.
edit: To expand on this we, somehow, have to get rid of a bit of this stupid “there’s a thread for that” mentality. These mega-threads are ridiculous. Example: “The Playstation thread” Currently the PS3 is out, there was a pricedrop for the Vita, and the PS4 was announced. I’ll admit that I haven’t been in there, but I’ll bet anything that the cross-talk in there is annoying as fuck right now. Each of these things is worthy of having its own thread. The problem is that with GD being a catch-all for gaming and other stuff 3 threads dedicated to Playstation would seem out of place. If there were a gaming forum this wouldn’t be the case.
Just my opinion, but one thing that would make a gaming sub-forum devolve to GameFAQs garbage is the lack of fact-checking.
Look, GD can talk the shit all they want about the FGC today and justifiably so, but at the end of the day SRK is a pro fighting game site and a lot of members here are incredibly knowledgeable about the subject. So if somebody talks out of pocket about fighting games, that person can easily get checked by active players or pros. Four score and seven years ago, I joined this site because FGs are the game genre I like more than anything else, but other gaming forums would just let the bullshit fly, and nobody would check them (or knew how to) when somebody says fighting games are cheap, boring, etc. I got tired of people speaking louder than everyone about their grievances over FGs, but not knowing wtf they were talking about. I think the same could happen here, since this isn’t a general gaming site at its core.
Back before PS3 and 360 were released, there was this one poster on GD who insisted that Xbox failed in Japan because they refuse to buy American products (every motherfucker in Japan has an iPhone), and you’re an idiot for trying to buy a PS3 because they’ll lock out your used games (never happened). Nobody checked him on his bullshit. So somebody needs to really step up and moderate against stupid rumors or fanboy FUD, or a gaming sub-forum wouldn’t be that great of a place to visit.
