But seriously, I just put the controller down. Serious lag spikes cause my character to ignore inputs and move on its own, not blocking and walking into all kinds of dumb shit. No use trying to work against that mess. I’ll just do something else until the match is over, give the guy neg rep, and avoid him. If they try to join the lobby again, I kick em. I shouldn’t have to fight the game just to fight the opponent.
Holy crap I just played a dude that used online tactics with such a poor connection. Double and triple LP shoryukens in a row, because in lag you can’t punish them. You can’t hit links because the timing is so weird, and the other guy would just mash dps until he hit the skies. Honestly, couldn’t do anything except chain jabs and bait out HP dps. What a complete douche.
I really don’t get people who get a kick out of playing like that online, when that stuff doesn’t work offline, especially when they know how the game works and know how to do a basic dp > FADC > ultra.
I block until it clears or if they’re attacking, I’ll mash cr.MP (Rose) while blocking.
I lose interest in the match and pretty much stop caring. A win or loss in lag is meaningless to me, there is nothing to be learned from it. When the match is over, I try to find a match with a more stable connection.
