Because the stages are so long in this game air fireball is really good when used smartly. Then DP and teleport for when you do get cornered. He’s not crazy broken good or anything, but you won’t get in easily on a good Akuma who doesn’t want to brawl.
I like how I am randomly having a nice legitimate convo about SFxT with you and having a couple of tools in the back pissed at me. Its funny how it works.
Yeah I suppose that Akuma tech gets a lot of hate online. However, since I main Raven I have ways around that. I guess Hugo users and Gief users really must not appreciate that. Hatemail central.

As far as Akuma hatemail goes, probably. I have never sent any but I’ve been pretty salty after losing to it occasionally. But I mean, I play Hugo. They SHOULD be getting the hell away and throwing fireballs. Or overwhelming with rushdown. I get angry, but really it’s at myself for not getting through their play. Good for them…well, good for them once I calm down. I’m sure I spew things about how lame and scrubby they are at my TV - the thing is I don’t send those things as mail.
Guys who back up, play defensively, and TAUNT when I have the life lead sometimes get my goat. Pre-patch I had a guy I was outplaying very badly but who was getting saved by autoblock squeak out a win against me who would taunt me after his autoblock saved him from what would have been a death combo. He ended up sending me a “lol.” Obvious troll so I didn’t write back…but damn did I want to.
I think Hugo needs a partner that can deal with zoners pretty well. Actually Dhalsim is a good partner for Hugo ironically. If sim is not your style I can think of suggestions later on.

If you don’t jump carelessly or get yourself cornered (and as long as you’re not Hugo), there’s not a lot she can threaten you with.
I have heard lots of ppl saying she is crazy good in this game. IMO she is top tier but manageable unless ur character has a bad match up against her
Juri’s frustrating to fight with certain characters sure, but she’s in no way broken. I mean come on, its your own damn fault if you keep jumping into her anti-air.

I am actually being a little sarcastic with that. I am not bitching about her…granted her AA into a combo is pretty stupid sometimes. However, I have received some hatemail when I teamed up with a friend of mine that mains Juri. We ran Juri x Ryu me being the Ryu player as anchor. We got call out on having a cheap team.
I am not talking about me this time dammit lol…Her AA into combo is pretty stupid, though. If she can get a free combo out of an AA…so should more characters. That’s the equivalent of a DP trade into Ultra from Vanilla SFIV. However, I rarely jump on this game mindlessly. I like to play the ground game.
The last two pages of this thread screams “COME AT ME BRO!” Although I do have to agree that most(not every)character should be able to combo off an AA. Each time I jump in on a good Juri thinking I’m gonna cross them up I can’t help but feel like I got caught with my pants down…in a prison yard.

You know, EMR, it’s really easy to be pleasant and polite, you don’t always have to be so abrasive, or throw an insult in with your opinion. I know you could be productive, as if you’re beating people in lag and winning in that condition, you could share that advice with us all. As lag is a killer online.
As a fellow Raven user I feel your pain. I hate the Raven - Juri match up somehow…I usually let Ryu work on her.
Did you read my post before you posted? Those are not my thoughts about Juri. I was merely talking about the general opinion of the average online scrub in regards to her. I don’t play Juri but I have partnered with a few and everytime I always get some form of insult and my partner as well.
Well mostly cause I play Ryu and he is “OMFG so Cheap, Capcom nurf this fagget character moar hurr durr”.
And I brought SSFIV and my encounters with some unpleasant fellows there as a comparison. Seeing as both communities are fairly similar. Hell, I see a lot of the same people back and forth.
Well If you look at my bio. I am stuck on an island that has a very VERY VERY limited fighting game scene. I have to play online and adapt to lag. However, people that have really ass connections by US standards or like to connect wirelessly or suck up their bandwidth immediately become unplayable. Its why I rage so much when a player is lagging cause that’s usually the case.
I have had some great matches against a lot of top players online with little to no lag. They are more concerned on the quality of their connection.
