What DLC character don't you want to see?

Actually, since I prefer the patch changes, shouldn’t I get to stay and you guys go play something else?

Most people here have been supporting this game since the beginning, we obviously love the game now, including the patch changes, but we also enjoyed the game before the patch.

You just specifically said that pre-patch Skull girls was awesome. That means that you didn’t prefer the changes of the new patch. Unless you were trying the say that post-patch Skull Girls is awesomER, then that makes you the hater not me. I supported Skull Girls from the beginning as well, as with pretty much everybody here I’m assuming.
I don’t see why if you guys like the older version and I like the new version I should be the one the leave. But I will anyway if that’s how you feel.

It was you that first suggested leaving, so don’t get all butthurt if somebody agrees with your original suggestion.

Prepatch SG looked fun. The prevelance of Double due to her assist seemingly limited character rosters. About two weeks before the patch hit people started bringing out the godliness in painwheel and ms fortune. Who knows what could’ve been discovered as time wore on but the post patch changes did help speed up roster diversity dramatically.

As for Mike and how he designs the characters people should have more faith in what he can do. The creativity in exhibited Peacock and Cerebella alone is just crazy. Isaac won’t be a gimmick if selected.

I don’t really want to see Illeum, Panzerfaust or Umbrella.

I don’t like any of their designs and Umbrella seems like a more boring character.

I never said it doesn’t have any advantages. Just that I can’t imagine them at the moment. Then again I’m not very imaginative. If they can pull Isaac off, more power to them. I’m just saying, based on what I’ve seen and my understanding of the concept, it doesn’t seem very practical. I think Isaac sounds cool, but I also think he sounds lofty and overly ambitious and until I see something more impressive than what was shown in the Cerebella demo I doubt I’ll think otherwise.

You do realize this is the guy that uses 3s makoto with the powerup super?

Im not saying that that makes him bad in any way… Just saying that everyones human and can get suckered into supporting a lost cause for arious dubious reasons.

Basically he may be imagining more in the tactic than what is there… Or perhaps overselling it.
The balance will be in the numbers and execution, but simply stating someones name then blindly following them cause of who they are, is a bit suspect.

Oh ok, I understand where you’re coming from. It’s probably due to the limited prototype design that’s incapable of conveying all of it’s practical uses. I admit it is very ambitious, but I think for some that’s exactly why they’re excited for Isaac.

I said I was wasting my time here talking to you people that don’t prefer the new Skull Girls patch which made the game more balanced and indirectly buff Ms. Fortune.

In the patch notes Mike Z reduced the damage of Solo characters and increased their health. He also made it that Valentine’s The EKG Flatliner super can’t hit Ms. Fortune’s head anymore. All these changes makes leaving Ms. Fortune’s head out less of a liability now post patch, this is not opinion this is fact. Her Omnomnom combos post patch are still devastating, they are just not brain dead anymore.

If you’re such a fan of the pre-patch Skull Girls then you should go play it, and leave the rest of us alone. I never said anything about me leaving. Why would I leave when I think the game is better now, Ms. Fortune is better now, and this version is the current tournament standard? All you’re doing is misinterpreting my posts, you’re wasting my time and you’re not making any sense at all.

I’m going to ask you to stop derailing this topic or I will have to call a mod. If you have anything problems with me posting here, take it to PMs.

First off, MF got a ton of changes to tone her down
http://wiki.shoryuken.com/Skullgirls/MsFortune#Version_1.0_to_1.01
Original Patch Notes: (11/20 PSN!) SG: Slightly Different Edition patch notes

Flatliner ignoring MF head (and assists) is a buff to Valentine and a nerf to Fortune (and everyone else) since the head (and assists) would get in the way and stop it from doing full damage. Now, in 1.01, EKG Super will do full damage instead of 2 hits and leaving Val in position to be punished.

Nothing was changed about the damage MF Head took and her head still can’t block, I’m not sure where you heard or seen otherwise.

nevermind.

I don’t think they’re saying pre-patch was necessarily better, just that skullgirls was still a good game before the slightly different edition came out.

I actually agree with much of what youve said previously… But that last post is… Not good. Mf head cant block and it still gets owned up by various combos and supers. The head not being comboable by flatliner is a buff to val in the fortune matchup at least that was the intent. Pre patch sg was an awesome awesome game. And besides the speedup and the nerfing of bomber, i prefer pre patch. This doesnt necessarily mean that pre patch was better, but it certainly wasnt the fail that you describe. Double is still retarded and all the good players that used double pre patch still use her in the same spot, at anchor and still own with her.

We use multiple activations of cats instead of lvl3’s and mk or lk bomber instead of hk bomber and we still win and the game is still good.

This isn’t necessarily true.

I like a lot of new things, I like that there are less CKCs, I like that assist characters take more damage now, I like that double’s assist got nerfed. There are some things I don’t like though. Skullgirls is awesome now you are probably the only person here who things that pre patch skullgirls “wasn’t good”

Downvote Minette and Stanley

yea stanley i think looks pretty boring. sounds boring too.

a lot of the other characters sound like they will offer a lot more than he will in terms of new/interesting gameplay.

Might just be correlation without causation, but I think it’s interesting that all of the characters Mike made proof-of-concept videos for made it into Top 16. I’m expecting that to carry on to the finish, but I kind of hope I’m wrong, if only so I can see Dahlia and/or Venus get a shot.

Well in a vote like this, you can only base your decisions from what the devs give you since none of the characters are pre-existing in a playable form. So naturally the ones with the most information to be gathered are the ones who will likely get the most attention for better or for worse. Now this could have actually had the opposite effect. Hypothetically let’s say that every player liked isaac before the prototype. Then the prototype was shown and roughly about half the people did not like his mechanics or weren’t impressed by isaac. Then Isaac would ultimately have less votes. The only reason this didn’t happen was because the prototypes were impressive for the time they were created in and most were intersting(Isaac, Molly, Eliza). Also to be fair, some prototypes wouldn’t have been finished in time for voting in relevance to when Mike had the idea to make showcase builds, such as Adam, and some needed entirely unique animations to demo them properly, like ileum. If I remember correctly she was supposed to have really far reaching normals or something like that.

TL;DR The characters with who have more info than the others and have appealing mechanics are more than likely going to get more votes as opposed to the characters who don’t, because the fans want to see elaboration on what little bit was shown. They will probably vote for some of those characters to play it safe, instead of taking a shot in the dark with a character like Ottomo(just an example).

Honestly with the exception of Isaac I’d be content with seeing the other demo’d characters in the game. Isaac’s time travel gimmick doesn’t appeal to me
