manual?
I drive a 2000 Honda Civic, with only 202200KMs on it or so. Got it back in 2006 I believe and it was a great car. That being said, it got stolen about a year and a half ago and once I got it back the interior was destroyed(and it looked like the douchebags who stole it hit something on the rear right side). I stopped caring about my car after that and now it’s slowly starting to rust and the paint is starting to go pretty badly on the front hood. I can’t really afford the type of car I want right now, and on top of that I feel that my Civic has more life left.
At the end of the day, I feel that a Civic is just a grocery getter type of car. There really isn’t anything exciting about it, but it’s reliable and gets the job done.
EDIT:
It’s also worth mentioning that I finally had to swap the battery this past winter. Nobody believes me when I tell them that it was a stock battery and lasted me 13 years…
Hehe that mbison plate is sick, I bet you get some funny looks sometimes
Nice! There aren’t many 3000GT VR4 convertibles. I think I have seen two in my life. Hang on to that one forever.
@strogg Nice blackbird! I heard that they have some kind of a braking link system, maybe similar to C-ABS with the new 1000RRs? Done any track days with it? That’s also cool that you rally your Subaru, when I had one in Colorado, I’d sometimes take it to parts of Rally America’s course in Routt County since a lot of it was really easy to access.
Whole lotta Subaru in this thread.
Not that I’m complaining. WRX/WRX STIs are great cars.
I used to drive a Fiat Punto, but then it took the sun to the main gasket.
Going to see whether it’s worth getting it repaired or just flipping the scrap value and putting it towards a new car tommorow, either way, hearing the engine fucking up and losing power when you’re on the motorway and the hard shoulder is just being used as another lane due to roadworks is fucking scary.
You mean, you let it sit out in the sun the uneven thermal expansion screwed up the gasket?
Nope, it’s just been really hot the last few days and it just overheated and died, AA man said the main gasket had gone when he arrived and took a look under the hood.
Is it really difficult to replace a gasket?
I’d be more worried about why the gasket blew off. If his car overheated it could mean a variety of problems, which are costly if you don’t know what to look for, or if you tell somebody else to fix it for you and he doesn’t know what the hell he’s looking for.
things don’t just blow off because it’s a hot day. things blow off because of negligence or wear and tear, usually the first.
