@rcaido When you got the bmw, did you ever test drove the 7 series? Those were fucking boss mobiles, you could stretch out your legs in the back seats with out anything in the way. When I worked at a dealership, got to drive one and was more impressed with that car than some of the sportier models I’ve driven.

No, we didn’t test drive the other cars except for the 335D because it was diesel(40 mpg) & qualified for the Cash for Clunkers deal. It was this or a Mercedes & we decided to go with this as it seems less people had this type of car & felt amazing to drive.

In my opinion the 7 series is a nice, executive and spacious drive, albeit a bit bulky when you’re doing city traffic. I test drove a 7 series and a 5 series and went for a 530D in the end. It’s great, I can’t fault it. I’ve driven many cars over the years and nothing beats it for everyday driving, work-home commute, long holiday trips, special occasions etc. A full tank gives me just over 800 miles, it’s crazy. 5 series feels more responsive when driving compared with 7 series. More nimble in the corners and such. All in all a wonderful car, I won’t be switching.

Oh, and bitches love the car too.

Just out of curiosity (not really a car expert here. I can recognize models and sometimes the engines, but that’s all). I have often seen/read/heard about a lot of US Citizens criticizing manual transmission (if not all, excluding something imported) like it was a thing created by Satan himself? Is it just laziness (i don’t mean to disrespect) because they don’t want to “adapt” or something else?

Automatic Transmission is a thing that started to somewhat “flourish” (together with assisted parking) in Italy just a couple of years ago, but still, most of the italians don’t even care about it. I still remember when my brother went to California for work (he works in IT and one of the biggest client his Company are some US States) and one of the biggest gripes he had with his period there was the fact that all the car he used had AT and he felt like he wasn’t in control of the car.

It is laziness. I hear the phrase “its too much work” often.

Nope. It’s not difficult, there’s other aspects of right hand drive that will mess you up before shifting would, especially since my other car is normal. The turn signal/wiper stalks are reverse, and after a trip in either car you’ll be messing up in the other for a second. The other problems with RHD are simply because I’m in the US…drive thrus, passing on 1-lanes, distance next to car, ect. All of these are bigger concerns than shifting. Pedals and gears stay the same just using the opposite arm.

Near my parents home. Specifically, at the end of Miguelito Canyon Rd in Lompoc, CA (EDIT: that road forks, and just realized the road I was on is called Sudden Rd, which is super short/dead end lol). The area beyond where my truck is parked is blocked off since its Air Force Base property.

Lots of hilly/scenic places around the central west coast.

I drive a 2000 Honda Civic, with only 202200KMs on it or so. Got it back in 2006 I believe and it was a great car. That being said, it got stolen about a year and a half ago and once I got it back the interior was destroyed(and it looked like the douchebags who stole it hit something on the rear right side). I stopped caring about my car after that and now it’s slowly starting to rust and the paint is starting to go pretty badly on the front hood. I can’t really afford the type of car I want right now, and on top of that I feel that my Civic has more life left.

At the end of the day, I feel that a Civic is just a grocery getter type of car. There really isn’t anything exciting about it, but it’s reliable and gets the job done.

EDIT:
It’s also worth mentioning that I finally had to swap the battery this past winter. Nobody believes me when I tell them that it was a stock battery and lasted me 13 years…

@strogg Nice blackbird! I heard that they have some kind of a braking link system, maybe similar to C-ABS with the new 1000RRs? Done any track days with it? That’s also cool that you rally your Subaru, when I had one in Colorado, I’d sometimes take it to parts of Rally America’s course in Routt County since a lot of it was really easy to access.

I used to drive a Fiat Punto, but then it took the sun to the main gasket.

Going to see whether it’s worth getting it repaired or just flipping the scrap value and putting it towards a new car tommorow, either way, hearing the engine fucking up and losing power when you’re on the motorway and the hard shoulder is just being used as another lane due to roadworks is fucking scary.
