All joking aside this is one of the most solid ideas I’ve heard for a movie in just about forever.
In keeping with the trend of this thread I’m of the understanding that Amingo is in fact a rejected creature design from Resident Evil 2. You know those plant monsters? Well yeah, originally Amingo was the big boy controlling all that shit, even hinting at the fact the original Resident Evil boss, Plant 42, was meant to be a second Amingo but failed due to it’s inability to support a sombrero and thus was locked away in that room.
You were originally supposed to fight him in place of the first G encounter but was eventually pulled from the game altogether after the development just couldn’t find a way to make him not completely broken. So his design was passed around various offices and studios at Capcom, only to sit on the drawing board and continue to go unused in certain projects such as Cannon Spike and Spawn: In The Demon’s Hand. That was until the day production on Marvel started and Capcom didn’t want to wait any longer to unleash this beast so our favorite stereotyped cactus finally stepped into the spotlight… only to have it blocked out by hulking tyrants such as Juggernaut and Sentinel.
And this is the tragic story of the one called Amingo.
