can’t speak for some of those but Warcraft and Starcraft have always been considered more legit offline. probably the same for all competitive games. any game that requires execution benefits from being played in a lagless situation.

Actually, RTS have a bit more legitimacy with online play. While minimal lag won’t affect your games, it will devastate your timing on fighting games. This is largely why online tournaments have more validity with RTS/FPS than they do with FG.
