Eh, could be something simple like not breathing out when you push up or your head isn’t flat when you’re doing it.
This happens with me and milk. Not sure why, but if that doesn’t happen, makes me gassy as hell and really bubbly/gurgly in my stomach. I’m not lactose intolerant or anything since I do fine with cheese, ice cream, etc.
Yeah, my guess is that you’re not breathing correctly, tape. Either that, or your diet is poor, causing light-headedness.
I have no problem with milk, yet I get gassy from whey protein shakes with milk.
I have a question: I eat brown rice and chicken a lot during the middle of the day…is that too high a carb on the GI scale for me to eat (should I save it for after my workout, instead of the usual bagel or half-pint of white rice?) during the day? I’ve been doing it for a few weeks, and there’s no extra size on my waist so far. Even so, would I be better off with a few peices of low-carb whole wheat bread instead of the rice?
Can you post pics of yourself?
Im having a lot of trouble working my lower abs, is therr anything i can do that will work them besides leg lifts? I have like the upper abs but not the lower and its driving me mad.
Do you mean fight pictures or bodybuilding ones?

If you want to see your abs, you have to get rid of the fat over them through diet and cardio. If you want to strengthen them, try weighted crunches and cable crunches for the lower part: http://www.shapefit.com/abs-exercises-cable-crunches.gif
Keep in mind that the abdominals are one muscle merely divided up, so you’re not really going to be able to target one half without working the other.
What im trying to get at is an all around balance of fitness where Im not so bulky that im slow and not so thin i have no power(Something similar to that of Bruce Lee).Right now im running, then pull ups, then push ups, then crunches, leg lifts, and ending with swimming or basketball.
The only weights i have right now are 25 pound dumbells.
Bulk doesn’t mean that you’re slow. Sprinters are insanely buff, especially compared to marathon runners.
And don’t worry about getting too bulky. If you’re not working your ass off at specifically getting that way, you’re not going to. If it was that easy to accidentally get big, there’d be a ton of huge motherfuckers walking around.
You’re not going to accomplish much with that kind of weight. Do you have access to a gym?
Theres a gym in a neighborhood right next to mine.I was hoping that since im a bit heavier than usual right now I’d get more out of exercises with bodyweight.
Reidar, what are your thoughts on rep numbers? If you’re looking build size, I’ve read that most people should stick to high reps (~8-112) (with some periodization, but generally high reps) because most people have predominately Type II fibers?
Nothing scientific, but I think low reps (~5) have historically worked better for me.
Depends on the person. Medium reps (6-8) work for me. Nothing will ever be set in stone about rep range, it’s always what works best for the individual. That’s why sometimes newbies get frustrated and say they aren’t making any gains, you gotta play around with the reps every few months to see how your body responds to it.
Whoa!! That would make a difference?
I’ve got one of the biggest stomachs possible. The rest of my body is reasonable. How do I rid of the sagging layers of skin from my under belly?
Can anybody recommend supplements? I know I am not consuming enough protein and carbs, should there be anything else that I should be supplementing?
ok, here’s a “already been asked question” but i havent read the whole thread so i wouldnt know… but:
does the subway diet really work? say if i eat a 6" from subway everyday for lunch and dinner, will it help me lose weight? (keeping in mind that i will do cardio/weight lifting every other day)
i mean i know that eating a home-cooked meal is probably the best solution, but as far as the subway diet goes, how worse is it than a meal i would prepare myself?
Constant weight loss. It will eventually come off, but if you’re like most people, it will be one of the last things to come off.
In my weight loss plan, I take no supplements (unless you consider a basic multi-vitamin one). I need to limit my calories, not increase them with a better protein/carb ratio. Your best bet is to find foods that are high in protein (poultry, beans, salmon, etc). I’ve nothing to say about carbs.
Who’s to really say? There are a few people who lose weight on a McDonald’s diet. With that said, you could do it. Just drink diet soda instead of regular, cut out on the potato chips (if you must eat them, go for the baked). Sodium levels are high on those sandwiches, so be sure to counteract that with plenty of water. Avoid the Chicken Bacon Ranch and the Meatball maranara. The more veggies, the better to help fill you up.
Although if you don’t want to cook, I guess Subway is a good alternative. But home-cooking is cheaper in the long run, and I’d imagine you’d get tired of eating sandwiches all the time. Hell, I eat Turkey sandwiches all the time here at work, and I’m fucking sick of them!
Alex, I’ve simply lost weight by not eating fast food and soda. Even the fried foods are alright in moderation. Basically everything can be good in moderation, even deep fried shit. Hell, having an all veggie diet cant be as good as having a well round diet, including meats.
All I’ve done is drink a slim fast in the morning, a snack in between lunch, a semi- healthy lunch(This is probably the worst meal of the day because I can’t get fresh greens that easily), snack, high protein dinner(Subway, 6" with double meat, usually oven roasted chicken breast(Kabob, ask Eric Lee, I rape that big ass plate(or grilled chicken, corn, and veggie baked beans).
I’ma ask this question here since this is the correct thread to do so, I’ve read over a couple pages sofar but i figured i’d go ahead ask/repost this anyway…
Hmm Im in the situation where im a thin dude i actually have a good bit of ab muscle and its pretty defined. Infact the only really problem i have is the small pot belly…Its not crazy pot or anything but for a pretty thing dude any kind of pot belly = not good. And its random, After i eat something its out in full force other than other times during the day tho, i got a nice set of ab’s for a guy you sits a desk 9 hours a day. And works out for like 15 mins every evening.
It doesn’t take much for muscle to start to shape up on and develop on me for some reason… Altho i eat really bad, I might eat twice a day but its always like. Fast food at 12 and Fast food at 7… not that much either just like a vaule meal or whatever.
Baiscally any tips on geting rid of the “potness” or is just my genetic makeup?
So it’s not a good idea to lift weights for an hour and right after that run for 2 miles. How about if I lift weights one day and run another. Would that be better.
