Damn guys, I fucked up my chest pretty good last Sunday at a Bench press competition.:sad: My piece of shit bench suit ripped on my way down on my 1st lift and caused my shoulder to hyperextend and I ripped my Pectorial major right off of my Humurus (which is attached to the bicep, shoulder area)

Got a MRI yesterday and saw a sports meds specialist today and he told me I will need surgury to fix it! Good news is it will be back to 100% after 3 months or so with good rehab! He said there would b no reason that I could not compete again in the fall!!:tup:

Yeah man, that looks harsh. How much were you benching when it ripped?

Nothing that I have not benched before, I always open my 1 of 3 lifts with 375lbs, then 2nd was going to be 400lbs and then I was going to try a personal best at 425lbs for my final 3rd lift! I would have been ok if the suit did’nt rip on the way down!

Ohh well, guess I’ll be back to benching the freakin bar after my surgury:sad:

Well this thread is about nutrition… has anyone else tried Bumble Bee’s Albacore Steaks? They’re so small but they’re packed with 35g protein each. I can finish eating 2 of them (70g) in 10 mintues and still not feel full.

Only downside is they don’t exactly taste all that great (dry and rubbery), but who cares… for a light snack that’s protein-heavy it can’t be beat.

I’ll try and post some pics after my cut here in the next couple months. I already said earlier I’m not a big guy…I’m almost right at 200lbs at around 12-14% BF…it’s gonna be a few years and a lot of juice before I’m gonna feel ready to compete…I think I might do my first amatuer show next summer…we will see.

And are you questioning my advice?? Shit I’ve stated on here is pretty basic facts…not theory. You don’t see me giving advice to romie or opticallyinvis or juice or chaos do you?? I’m mostly trying to help out newbs and beginners or people who’ve been fed a bunch of BS…and I’m just about the ONLY one on this thread that’s trying to answer every question.

I’ve tried a lot of stuff to lose weight, heres what I eat during the day.
Oatmeal w/ bread and half shot of flaxseed
Lunch, half shot of flax w. water.
Home f. school, around 2:30-3:00. A meal, fish, or chciken.
(5) o clock smoothie…w/ banana why(1 shot) and PB and milk…8 oz half of flaxseed too.
Dinner, after gym, same as above…with an appel
i’ve been doing 20 min of cardio everyday
Does taking stuff to raise your metabolism have any draw-backs?
Cuz I haven’t been active in my early years…

wanna lose weight, gotta eat more often - portioned meals of course.

you’re hitting those carbs right in the morning, isn’t exactly going to do you good. and can’t be downing that bread every day either.

consume ā€˜cold water’ all the time, other than during/after workout.

raise your protein intake, that shit help burn the fat to in the long run. and don’t over do it on the sugar. once you spike, it stops the fat burning process.

The Mullah its abit unfair of you to question magnus like that, the guy has answered everybodys questions in detail and put effort in, where as you and nobody else have.

yea eggs are great. hit up beaters or real eggs; but keep the yoke count to 1.

My best raw lift is 395, but thats just touching the chest, and exploding up for 1 rep. In a Bench meet its much harder because you have to actually hold the barbell on the bottom for like 1 full second before the ref will tell you to lift!

Thats the main reason you wear the suit is to protect your shoulder from blowing out at that extreame weight, but then the downside is if your suit rips…YOUR FUCKED:sad:

I finally saw the video of it yesterday, damn…made me cringe when I saw my suit rip and my arm go back like that!!

still, at least its a mans injury, unlike when i put my back out cleaning my trainers! lol

yeah seeing my buddies tear pec muscles is the main reason i got out of PL and leaning toward OL. Juice what brand shirt was it.

It was a old single ply nylon ā€œINZERā€.

Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday
Push ups, the max I can do in one set is 20
pull ups, the max I can do in one set is 10
sit ups, the max I can do in one set is 50
back arches, I dont know my max, but I usually stop at 50 since it takes so much time. I should really continue to 300.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Squats, the max I can do in one set is 50.
Jump and Jacks, the max I can do in one set is 300. I think i am fine in this area.
Crunches, The max I can do in one set is 15.

I dont have any equipment to train, and I am trying to save some money to get a membership at the YMCA. I really want to running ecercise’s but school takes up all day and I live in a white neighborhood where running around the block spells trouble. I also don’t eat very well. M-F I dont eat breakfast since I have no time with my job and morning class starting at 9:00 am. I eat cheeseburgers and drink orange juice at the school. I comeback home to eat whatever is available. usually it is speghetti, rice, peanut butter and jelly sandwich, cereal, or ham and cheese sandwiches.

I really want to build my body so I can play for the school in football as cornerback, basketball as point gaurd, baseball, soccer, swimming, rowwing and tennis. I know its alot to ask for,but any help you can provide wil be helpful.

Ha have you tried out metal gear, some of the pl in my area use this brand they are real nice shirts. Isnt Westside Barbell in your area, if so have you ever trained there.

flyboy, ya need to be more specific. do you want to trim down or get bulky?

getting in shape means making sacrifices. if you don’t got time, make it - become more flexible.

Whether I want to trim down or get bulky I cant really say. I dont want to get as bulky as a pur muscle man, but I also dont want to trim down so much as to lose wieght.

I want to be in the middle if this makes any sense. In terms of the way I look right now I think bulking up is the best option. I can make the time, but i am aksing what I should do in terms of training and nutrition.
