I had some pills like that with a similar name: Leukix…you take 2 a half-hour before your workout, and yes, fuckin’ indeedy-doo, they DO pump you WAY the hell up*. You feel like going outside and benching the family car. The only downside is you work out harder than you normally would without it bothering you, so you start to feel nauseous (you feel funny and get lots of watery drool…classic precurser to what comes next)…then half the time when you take the first sip of your after-workout protein shake, you spew. I had to quit taking that shit cuz I was literally working not to failure, but to the point of barfing…plus the pills smell bad. I’m sure Gakic doesn’t have these effects. BTW, Leukix was discontinued, but some supplement stores still sell their remaining stock at a 50-60% discount.
*cursing for emphasis, cuz this is the biggest “IT’S GO-TIME!!!” energy boosts you’ll ever get. You get bigger lifts and everything. I was clearing 280+ benches when I normally can only go 230.
I know…but it isn’t worth it at all. You feel like shit for about an hour afterwards (nauseous, ready to spew at any given moment, you’re sweating your ass off and can’t cool down for ANYTHING…that stuff can’t be healthy, and I can understand why it’s been discontinued)…I’ll never EVER use it again.
If you are looking for a preworkout formula, and don’t have the time/desire to customize your own. SD’s REPS is a solid product, for a good price
Still though, make sure your diet/workout is in order before you start spending extra cash on supps. They aren’t going to make up for a lack of commitment elsewhere.
Best bang for your buck “must haves” would be
whey protein
creatine monohydrate
dextrose
fish oil
a good multivitamin
n maybe some green tea pills
Spend the 2 bucks a day per serving you would be spending on a premade NO booster product on an extra 100g of protein in the form of 1lb of chicken breasts, and you will be better off…unless you are already solidly in the 1-1.5g per lb range…and are looking for an extra edge.
I’m not 100% sold on Beta Alanine yet…on a cost/results basis. If you have the extra cash though, and the rest of your diet is in order…try it out.
If you are taking in enough protein, you are getting enough bcaa’s…though they are beneficial pre/post workout to kickstart things. Also if you are trying to lose some weight, as I currently am, they are great to take in the morning before fasted cardio instead of a full protein drink. It stops the body from breaking down muscle for fuel but saves on calories and keeps you burning mostly fat for fuel (some don’t like fasted cardio, I’ve always found it works well for me) 10g bcaa, 2 green tea pills, 200mcg caffeine, 1500mcg l-carnitine. Works wonders.
If you are just trying to add muscle though, use it pre/post workout and upon waking. Again though, this is one of those frosting on the cake type of things. If you are short on cash, you will be fine with some whey.
Funny you should mention ZMA as I was just putting in an order for some through suppsdirect. I haven’t used it in a while (been sidetracked over a year with shoulder surgery/rehab) but I love it. Some don’t think there is any benefit, so take anyones advice with a grain of salt. For me, if nothing else, I sleep like a baby while taking it. Any other benefits are gravy. Take it 20 mins before bed unless you drink a casein shake (or cottage cheese) at night (which you should)…if that is the case, take it 1 hour before bed, then the casein before you hit the sack.
I SOMETIMES wonder if pro bodybuilders take anything they advertise. :wonder: . SIDE NOTE - I dont know if this is just my gym but there are these big old \obese guys hanging out in the bathroom way too long .i went to go work out and an hour later the same guys still in the steam room. (which is right in front of the shower ) I feel like im on stage or something while trying to clean up. Then they walk around in the locker room nude all day talking :wasted: Anyone else Have this problem ?
Just take your shower at home. Avoid the free shows.
I still don’t get the logic behind not having private showers at most clubs. Just because that is how they did it in the old days…if I’m paying 50 bucks a month, I should be able to scrub my balls in private.
Well I just started working out for real the last couple days.
I’ve decided to do running. It’s free, and I can do it anywhere. I found a track near me that runs around a lake. It is about 2.3 miles around. Monday I started, but was unable to go all the way without stopping. Yesterday I ran and only stopped once. Today I rested from running and went to a rec center by me to lift weights.
I didn’t do anything strenuous because I just want to introduce my muscles again to workout stress. I did some curls, bench presses, sit ups on a ball (the situp benches always hurt my knees), and just random lifts. I will get a lift schedule soon. My goal is to run 4 days a week, lift two, and rest on Sunday.
I am also taking some supplements. I am taking tonalin, st. johns wort, multivitamin, fish oil, and pepcid ac because I have acid issues. I have bad knees so I bought some jumper knee straps.
How does this sound to everyone? I am currently 230 pounds. Obviously trying to lose weight. My goal is to be at 190 pounds in a couple months. My birthday is in almost two months so I set my goal for that is to lose more that 5 pounds and have the ability to run around the lake twice nonstop.
For sure look into taking something like Animal Flex, or at least some glucosamine and MSM on their own for your joints. I’m telling you, it makes all the difference in the world for me. I’m in my 30’s and my knees started having some issues, but it’s quite minimal now. Also, takes a little while to kick in, so don’t give up on it after a month.
Also, as another poster said, squats, squats, squats. Take it slow at first, do bodyweight, then move up from there. Works wonders. That along with the above supps, I have almost none of the “clicking” that I use to have in my knee joints (nor the occasional partial dislocations I would get in one).
Supps-wise I advise anyone to take a quality product like animal flex, or the like, BEFORE you have issues. Your body will eventually break down on you whether you are ready for it or not. Cut that shit off at the pass.
people should do some research on it first, there was something not too long ago my buddy took called hemobolin and after like a week he started having chest pains. It pretty much promised 20 extra lbs in the same period steroids would.
I will try this. I just hope my clumsy self won’t fucking fall. I think at first I will do extremely light weight. Only 50 pounds or something. Just to get used to the motion. Thanks for that link.
I will look into that. I saw a lot of those knee/joint supplements. I will look into that animal flex stuff.
Fuck dude that is a lot of fish oil! I am currently taking 2 caps daily. About 600 mg. Just reading the instructions on the bottle and followed that.
I think I will have to up it though. Just have to get used to taking all those pills. I am always bad with pills. I’ll just have to get used to it though.
animal flex works wonders. i use to have a horrible shoulder problem. I couldn’t do any weighted dips without major discomfort, and couldn’t pass 200lbs on the bench because i’d get sharp pains and even popping in my shoulder. a month after taking animal flex, the pain and popping was basically non-existent.
Does taking that much fish oil help? man, 11 pills from animal pak, 8 from animal flex, 10 from fish oil, and then another 4 other random pills i take. that would be over 30 pills daily lol. i don’t know if i can handle all that.
