I think what heās trying to say is some people would respond the same way you just did to bolting a stick down to their coffee table. I donāt think itās dumb to do so, but Iām not going to do it. I will probably use those gripping sheets as I have a roll or two already in my garage somewhere.
I realize itās not expensiveā¦but it does take up a lot of space. You seem to have a nice living room based on the pic and that table (not the coffee table) is an eyesore so Iām sure you put it away when either not in use or when you have people over.
The welding comment was obviously a joke, in reference to Mr Bolt it or it will move across the room and danceās comments. Obviously you wouldnāt weld it, cāmon donāt tell me youāre that thick you didnāt realize I was being facetious.
I was giving an alternative to the people that donāt want it their stick to move side to side. Instead of ruining a coffee table, making a large set up like yours which takes up a lot of space, or pouring fvcking concrete in the stick.
You guys really are touchy, learn to relax a bit.
Iām going to use iron rebar to anchor my stick directly into my houseās foundation. :nunchuck:
is it Sanwa JLB-5 Type X rebar, like how the anceint JDM arcades of Japan use?

Actually, the new SF fightsticks are designed around the anvil weight system, so you wont have any troubles with it! lol

I hot glued 2 giant bolts inside mine. They probably weigh a little more than a pound each. Keeps my american stick in place quite nicely, only drawback is lugging it around at tourneys cuz itās heavy.
Does the bear do anything? Like dispense M+Ms from itās mouth?
I recently came across the self-adhesive eDead 120 soundproofing material. It is flexible, you cut it to fit with scissors, and you can layer it for even more weight. Itās relatively cheap and can be attached to pretty much anything. I used it INSIDE my Xbox 360 Hori EX2 and am very happy with the additional weight. Since arcade sticks are making a massive comeback, and not everyone can bolt theirs to a table, I thought this thread might need a bump as it is a very relevant question.

For my T5 stick i just got a bunch of coins & put in those bubble wrapā¦I then insert the bubble wrap w/coin in the plastic hole where you insert the screwsā¦Gives it good weightā¦
I say, forget the see-through bottom, and go with a wooden bottom. Then load the inside with extra wood, which should double as reinforcement if you do it right.
You can easily get more creative with adding weight. Gorilla glue will be your friend, it will glue layers of sheet metal to each other and to the wood even. You can still make it nice by adding an additional thin layer of wood on top of the sheet metal, and painting it to your hearts content, so it matches the rest of the box.
This is assuming you donāt have the means to cast metal into the bottom of the box, or make the box out of marble.
On my SF4 SE, I used stick on wheel weights. After you take the back panel off, I stuck them to the metal panel itself on the inside. They are super low profile and dont interfere with anything inside. I work in the automotive industry and got them from my work, Pepboys or anyother auto store will stock them super cheap, too!
I used them b/c I wanted it to be heavier/more sturdy, hope that helps, cheers mate!
Thatās a great idea thanks for posting that. I am definitely going to pick some of these up.
