The Devil Jin Show!
DJ takes down his first SSF4 tournament, never dealing with Losers’. I like it. VA came through and we always love it. Seth… you’re killing me on the stream man. Too much.
Oh yeah…
Lud clinches the Evo ticket tonight!
Next week still matters, as the other money spots are up for grabs. Who will take it?
Had to play the person I rode with, and then the person that lives next to me if there wasn’t a float. Ended up getting taken out from someone in my area as well.
I just don’t really prefer the system over brackets that can be done by someone who can seed region/skill at the same time.
Integrity of the brackets (which are arbitrary anyway)… yeah, yeah, whatever… but I’m sorry… I don’t like the idea of 3 guys driving over an hour, and having to play each other.
Floating is impossible, and it seems like every week, I have to do some wild shit with the brackets because somebody came like 2 minutes late, or I accidently left somebody off, or whatever… and I have to wind up using paper anyway.
Seeding by skill is most important to me, so I choose that… but it’d be nice to have some sort of flexibility. Obviously, it’s a slippery slope, and there are organizers that would abuse that… but those same organizers could just seed manually through tonamento anyway.
I use tonamento because I just like the idea of rankings actually being based on real performance, and the more organizers use tonamento, the better it will be for everyone, but in terms of actually running the tournament, it really makes things more difficult.
its impossible to seed region and skill at the same time as one of them must be sacrificed at some point. HAV couldve reseeded you and your friend if it was a big deal, but lets get this straight…if u and your friend enter the same tournament, theres a chance u will be fighting each other, and based on your seeds in the system which are a direct result of your past performance, thats exactly what happened. everyone wants a bracket custom tailored for them. the only unbiased way to do it is by skill. this is 1v1 competition. there r no friends.
The chun army is strong in MD and VA. Guess I better practice that match up. I was pretty free, but it was my first time playing offline so thats my excuse…
good shit to DJ, invite me to your practice sessions so I can level up.
and good shit to Bartlett, those were some clutch wins. Amazing games all around, so much hype.
Good shit to Rugi, DJ, Brolett, and Lud. You guys were playing pretty good and it showed this one around. I think we are all in a crap shoot cause on any different day we can all beat each other and styles/chars make or break match-ups. We all need a second char honestly, a char that is completely different from our mains so that we can fix our weak points and make them strengths.
i had a great time seein everyone yesterday, thanx to all who checked in and sent their best wishes for me and my son.
Alot of new faces showing up…alot of surprising skill brewing too. Rugal and Havok talk alot about how everyone needs to step things up and it seems like it’s working.
The xanbats are wonderful. Seth, you’re doing a great job and i almost want to miss some of the tournaments just to be able to catch the show here and there. Press, hope the store is becoming all you wanted it to. Good luck with everything.
I’ve been going through alot of personal things for the past few months and have been out of touch but hopefully i’ll be able to keep the dhalsim/t.hawk hype goin for weeks to come
Good games, sorry I couldn’t stay but I was already super tired and wanted to plow that 2 hour drive home. Getting progressively better as time goes on with Mak, I’ll take all of the advice given so thanks for that (though most of it was you should get a secondary). Hopefully I’m there for the monthly on Saturday and next Wednesday and will do better again.
Congratz Lud and REALLY want to fight that Viper DJ
Props to the placers. MD fought off the VA invasion. Wish I could have made it. Watchin it on the stream is good but the hype is waaaay better in person.
