I threw a tekken meetup at my house about 1 1/2 months ago and had some friends, locals, and top player or two with everyone playing different characters. Two people I didn’t know personally asked me if they could come but they went about different ways. One guy asked me publicly on the forum if he could come…I met the guy once the week prior at another house, cool guy…but didn’t know the basics or anything…so I completely ignored the guy. No offense, but it’s my house and you ain’t my friend.
The second guy was another local, i didn’t know him personally either but I had met him the week before and he plays better. Now I didn’t give a shit about people’s skill…the second guy pmed me personally instead (greater effort shown here) so I said cool.
A third guy I didn’t know showed up too, but luckily he was a friend of a friends so it was cool…
Have these players ever thought of calling people to their house or hosting their own meetup ? That’s taking a proactive approach instead of waiting on top players to hold meetups. Do it your fucking self.
