About the same as with 1 and 3. DMC4’s DMD mode changes some enemy placements, especially having later-game enemies show up in the early portion of the game, but also adding more or different kinds of enemies to rooms. A few enemies have new attacks and in general they are more aggressive, both with their attacks having a shorter warning period and increasing the frequency of their use. Most notably however is that enemies will Devil Trigger after having been spawned for a certain length of time. The amount of time until DT varies by enemy, and once DTed they deal significantly more damage while seeming to take a bit less from your attacks. However, they don’t heal like the player characters do when DTed.
But they also don’t take hit stun, so watch out. A DTed Chimera will kill you if you try to DT Stinger through its flailing animation.

It was an amazing port, but it just came out too late. By the time we got it, DMC4 had lost its momentum.
Any of you check out Brea’s new combo vid?

Oh shit. Sounds like fun.
Christ. My mind can barely comprehend wtf this guy is doing in that video.
I love DMC4 so bad. It’s just plain wrong. The game is pretty linear and there’s not left to do but kill demons at varying difficulties, but its so addictive. I used to spend hours in Bloody Palace.
I hope to whatever runs this universe that DMC5 will include a multiplayer mode similar to DMC3’s two player easter egg.

Still, that shit is just insane. Props to a chick that can pull off those kinda combos, man.
Yeah, I was surprised that feature didn’t make it into the game as a featured online mode.
Fucking co-op Dante and Nero? I don’t think the system could handle that kind of madness going on at the same time. You know the developers would have to create a system where they could swap weapons or enemies on the fly… or co-op dual-combos. Oh fuck!

Nero: CS3 until the shield drops. Run up and DT in Blitz’s face. This will launch him - jump and catch him with a Buster. Also, start charging for another CS3. When Nero finishes, Blitz will land directly beneath him. Land and hit him with another Buster. After the second Buster, Blitz will be kicked away a small distance. Now fire off your CS3 to knock him down. Immediately start charging CS3 again, and as he gets up, run up and Buster him again. As your Buster finishes Blitz will go into Red Mode. The moment your CS3 finishes charging, nail him - this will finish off Blitz.
Is it wrong that I’m already looking forward to DMC5? God I love this series.
The console would melt. They’d a rank higher than SSS for the stuff Dante and Nero would pull off. 2plyr Bloody Palace with more enemies onscreen at once would be the last DMC mode I need in life.

I liked to do some small combo right before a Buster grab on a Blitz, just to add that extra bit of damage…also, release the charge while in DT to get the multiple summoned blades to hit him all at once, then start charging again. Nero takes out a Blitz so easily, whereas you actually have to do a bit of thinking with the Dante vs. Blitz scenario. I’m still just now getting comfortable with the Lucifer/Pin-up+whatever method.
…Bloody Palace still seems easier with Nero as well.
and oh lordy…a 2(+?!)-player Bloody Palace would be so DELICIOUS…it could be a whole separate game…no story even required, just put out a multiplayer Bloody Palace, and yes, Capcom…I would likely buy that for a full 59.99.
*must say it once again…you have not lived 'til you play Bloody Palace with Guns ‘n’ Fuckin Roses WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE! as your theme music. It should be illegal for a gaming experience to be that awesome.
while I’m dreaming here…give me a Custom Character mode (*on top of many already established characters now made playable)for a new DMC game and it’s Heaven for me…it would instantly be my absolute #1 game of all time.
I play with all the battle music from DMC3 and “The Time Has Come” from 4. I also added the anime intro D.M.C. (Band Ver.) for some extra kick, as well as other killer beats from the series.
If they add a character edit/creation mode I’d buy it for $100 no bull. I’m so serious right now.

DMC All Stars. 1000 Bloody Palace levels. Featuring combinations of every DMC enemy ever, a slew of new ones, as well as old/new bosses. Playable chars - Dante, Nero, Vergil, Lady, Trish, Nero Angelo, Sparda, Credo, Gloria. Multiplayer.
Easy money for Capcom. I’d buy two copies.

Yeah, I haven’t played it in a while but when I was playing it I thought it was spot on.
Might as well throw Lucia in there too. As bad as DMC2 was, it’s still somebody somewhat different to play as.
II’d also like a character creator, especially in a scenario like that.
I thought Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams handled 2-character control pretty well (with awesome team-up supers), at least if you’re playing single player.
It would be awesome if there were split-screen co-op missions, though. Each character being in a completely different area of the castle (because there’s always a castle) solving different parts of the mission, then when they get close enough the two screens merge back into 1.

As far as the PC port goes, I’m guessing the main reason it didn’t sell well is since it came out so late after console, more people who wanted to play had it already.
I’m going to have to disagree with the first part of this paragraph and say it’s generally a bad idea to do extra hits on Blitz, since the Blitz will bring up its red shield after it takes a certain amount of damage (you can test this by blasting off the yellow shield and then doing nothing. It’ll bring the yellow shield back up). The threshold for that is pretty wide, too, so you can accidentally cross it with a few extra hits and then have to deal with a red mode Blitz with a ton of life. With Az’s combo, if you add too many more hits, you can miss your chance for that third buster.

LOL, they’ve have to raise the stylish meter from SSS to ORGASIM.
Really? See, I was thinking some John Denver or the Beatles Sgt.Peppers album would be pretty cool.
… just kidding! I have Gn’R: AFD so I might have to check that out this weekend. I’ve never really stepped into Bloddy Palace Mode before because it seems like it requires so much time in one sitting and that’s difficult for me to do unless it’s my day off, the wife is @ work and I’m stoned.
You speak the gospal, my son. Capcom’s sitting on the greatest DMC possibility ever thought of. I’d fucking call in sick to work or arrange a few days off if that game was ever made.
I have a solution for you:
- Pause the game
- Go do whatever it is you need to do
- Come back
- Unpause the game
I’ve employed this strat myself, and it works.
