Hmmm. Nothing is showing on the calendar for me. Sugestion: how about making the calendar the home page? With links to contact info if people want to have it linked. TW could be listed each saturday that it’s scheduled.
dammit… things broke… hmm… I wonder when that happened…
bleh… I’ll look into fixing it… oh… its just not showing up for not-logged in… fixing that…
Also, I don’t seem to be getting email notifications of subscribed topics… I’ve got it set to email me… but I don’t get them
bump for Nationals around the corner. I should make a new thread for that actually.
@Gojira I guess I should learn what to do after low parries. I just get the parry and then choke. d/f 1 into oki or something. Should probably actually combo.
Edmonds. Kinda in the Lynnwood area.
Lee is turning out to be really friggin hard to play for me. I have such an easier time with Lars. I can’t figure out any good high crushes or low crushes with Lee. Also having a problem with anything remotely long range. Hmm. Wanna stick with him but damn I feel stumped. This game is frustrating.
Lee has some tricky stuff. I was considering on trying him out now with his nasty ass float combos/wall game.
From my limited understanding of Lee:
Low and maybe high crush use u/f+3. It is -12 on block so use it to crush only, it also is a luncher =).
A high crush for sure is f, d/f, d, d/b+4. It has a lot of range but you usually want to do it on wake up situations only because it can be easily sidestepped. I want to say that I will hit grounded people as well. Anyway, it does have A LOT of high crush frames.
A long range kick attcack that I often see Lee players use is something with a 4? Its like a turn around kick that seems to be safe on block so long as there is no wall behind the opponent. Sorry I do not know the notation of the move. As with most attacks in Tekken, to use this move correctly you have space urself in relation to your oppnonent.
One little piece of advice that is easily overlooked-
Neutral auto-guards high and mids. You don’t have to hold back. Very usefull, espicially if your character has a 1 or 2 punisher and also a b+1 or b+2 move.
Of course, keep in mind that some strings of moves break autoguard, including some into launchers! @_@
So guard deliberately if it looks like a string you want to completely block. I didn’t know this for a while, lol.
Do you mean the knee? that’s u/f+4 but semantics aside, that low crushes? I’ve never gotten it to work. u/f+3 is like a crazy jump kick that looks more like a high crush but I don’t know how it would launch, it kicks 'em in the head and they reel back or do a backflip kinda thing away from you on hit. Maybe counterhit? I know hitman stance u/f+4 is a launch on counter but it’s so hard to land like that…
Ohhh, dope. It’s just d, d/b+4 but thank you for pointing out that it’s a high crush, I never thought of that. You can get a FAT ASS COMBO off that shit.
Oh yeah yeah yeah f,f+3, I’ve just started implementing that. That and f+4 have pretty good range. Lars is so much easier to pressure with so I’m a bit confused on creating pressure strings with Lee. Guess I’m too scared of them ducking my highs…
EDIT: The connection rating system makes no sense to me. 2/3 green! I go in and everybody is red. I can’t find anybody evenly matched. It’s either rape or be raped. And either way they all kick me or drop. GGs online.
So Tekken is a pretty intimidating game. There’s a fucking shitload of characters and they all have like 100 different moves, not that you need to know ALL of them or anything but still. The movement is hella hard compared to any other game I’ve ever played. Harder than Marvel for sure. At first I didn’t know if I would like it or not. I played a little Tekken 5 and a little less DR, and outside of what I learned from those games (not much) I am a complete noob. I must say this game is pretty sick though. It’s been awhile since I’ve enjoyed sitting in the training room as much as I do with this game. Probably since Marvel. I used to sit in the training room for like 4 hours at a time just practicing Magneto infinites and Sentinel combos and shit because it was fun. Last night I was practicing EWGFs and wave dashing for hella long. There was about 30 minutes where I didn’t even touch any buttons just trying to wave dash.
Anyways, I’m still pretty bad but you guys should hit me up for games.
Nice.
Trace, it is good to see that you are interested once again in a game that Namco made.
I will see you in person or online soon!
LILI MAKES ME RAGE
Every single one I play online doesn’t even know combos and rapes me anyway. All they do is spam her cartwheel type moves. I always think they’re over but oh wait there’s another hit. I try to punish in between seemingly laggy hits and I get counter hit, then I get combo’d into more cartwheel spam. Hahaha god damnit. I should check her shit out in defensive training or something. It’s embarrassing. I feel like I’m losing to former Eddy scrubs.
My Lee is coming along better than my Lars… Well, it’s like, my Lars combos are better, I am finally completely figuring out his wall game (which is dope!) while my Lee overall play is better - better poking, movement, etc. Hmm.
Elias I’m starting to think you should just pick one and stick with it, I saw some beastly Lars players and he is generally regarded to be a very good character right now. Lee is tight too though. I can’t fault you for wanting to have some backup, but there’s just so much to learn I can’t fathom being able to play two characters as proficient as one.
Also, don’t play online…? ^^;
Is what I say!
But I am lucky to have such competition offline.
All I have to say is that all of PDX need to make a Tekken trip up to Seattle very soon!
Oh the good Ol’ Seattle motto:
You guys have to come to us…
Are any of you guys scenario mode experts? I have a couple questions:
- Are there items you can only get from drops? Or can you just buy everything?
- How the fuck do you beat the Nightmare Train without Devil Jin? I was a noob and used my free unlock on Kazuya, and I have been getting owned by this level.
Holy shit, Sea-town still plays Tekken?
Super Joe is the only person on this board that I recognize from when I used to play hardcore in the T3/TTT/T4 days. I’m going to be visiting Seattle from New Years until around the 10th of January and want to play some T6 since there aren’t any T6 machines where I live and I hate consoles. Super Joe, and anyone else for that matter, let me know if/when you guys will be out playing and I’ll be sure to make it out for a few hours at least once.
- Pretty sure you can buy everything.
- Haha. Equip stuff that raises your health bar, increases damage, freezes, electrifies, and increases rage damage/or raises defense. Buffs don’t stack and you have to make sure that you have the effect activated (X I believe on the 360? Anyway, the shit turns yellow in the box to the right when it’s activated).
Don’t get cornered. Run and shoulder as often as possible. Spam moves that work. Save the gun for when DJ appears…stand off to the side of him and shoot him off the train.
Pain in the ass but doable. Only other thing I can think of is make sure it’s on Medium difficulty.
MAX where the FUCK have you been my mathematical g-funk?
Holy shit I haven’t seen you in like 45902720759 YEARS dude!
!!!:annoy:!!!
