I wish I had found an arcade in Paris, France since I know Beasley threw down there in his youth. I never got back to him because I was busy so no Parisian ST tales for me.

Gotta love third world countries and their arcades. Nothing like playing KOF 96 in a Mortal Kombat cabinet with the original MK layout intact.

Beasley was born and raised in Cali. The only thing French about him is his odor.

I kid.:china:

I was wondering what happened to all those ST exclusive players petitioning for the tournament entry fees to be raised to $5. Whatever happened to that plan? Was it going to start with season 4? Axel is running shit now, right? What say he?

Yeah, I noticed Julien at evo with the headphones. To me, that shows a clear lack of being able to focus on the game at hand having to depend on phones to help focus. I think the desire to whoop us will light a fire under them farts.

I played Airthrow and it seems to me that people are stuck on “facts” about matches instead of understanding how to flow. There are so many paths to winning but I’ve found that a lot of folks think it’s about knowing a match specifically. It’s about knowing how to win and THEN working on the match. Matches evolve through the years. Learn to win and how to “will it” or how to control the flow and adapt are more important than technicalities and those apply to winning at any game. Unless, you wanna play 549846546 hours a day just to get good at one game.

I get what you’re saying though. You have to lose at times to teach. Teaching can take the focus off winning when you want the new G to win so badly. Airthrow was quite impressive for what he understood.

I’m interested in checking Deezy out tho. Hearin’ good things yo.

My Cabinet will be arriving within the week. Its a nice set up, has head to head 27" HD sony Bravio’s, inter changeable sticks (have 2 sets, japs and american) they plug in like nintendo controllers, very fast, very convienant, so nobody should have any complaints. Under neath the hood I have my ps3, 360 and my pc all hooked up. So I can emulate whatever and play any of the newest games. I can also set up a supergun and get actual arcades in their if I choose. So the set up will be pretty Candy.

I plan to make my spot one of the New Dojo’s in Washington. I hope people will come to play as much as possible.

Cole’Jo will open soon enough =D

Man the posts from the OG Cali beasts make me excited to play ST again hahah. Originally I wasn’t planning on going to Zach’s tomorrow as I have to work at 7am Saturday morning, but fuck it, I’m gonna show up.

Someone tell me how to beat honda again with Dee Jay. Low/Low Mid characters are the BAIN of existance. I have no problems against Vega’s, Sim’s, and even O.Sagats. But throw a Blanka, Honda, or Fei long at me and im cluster fucked. I know im suppose to win those matches and have been told the things to counter, Maybe my timing is off?

Thinking of gaming on Sunday. I’m free from the afternoon till mid-day on Monday, since I don’t have to meet with the lawyers on Monday morning for once. If you’re interested, post up with when you’re free. I need to know what a good start time is. I always ask this, and people always just say, “yeah, I’m down for games.” Or something iffy like that.

Sorry for the short notice. But I’ve learned that trying to make plans ahead of time with ST players is a pointless endeavor.

Jetay, I would offer advice, but we both know that my knowledge of ST is suspect.

Sunday is football…

If ur still doing this I’m down

EDIT: I can come by anytime you’d be ready at.

Keith: I could come through at like 8 PM ish.

I guess there isn’t a whole lot of interest when judging by the responses. I think I’ll just do something else. Sorry if this is a disappointment the two who posted.

I’m also interested in going, Keith.

I’m aching to play ST with you guys, but my schedule is completely ruined by crappy low-wage work. Maybe a new guy will be hired, though, and I’ll get another day off and won’t have to close up four times a week. :frowning:

So I’m trying to pick up this game, for the first time, and I would really like a Jedi to study under. Any takers at all? It’d be really cool to have someone to follow and learn through.

We can play because you’re local. Will not travel for ST.

Just got home. Cook’n up some white trash food, and I plan on playing old Mario for a bit. Started going through the series with friends earlier today before we called it a night. However, if anyone randomly wants to game, call me and pop in. I’m free till 10AM or so. However, I’m physically weary, so I question how effective I’d be at Marvel. Imagine my normal level of MvC2 play, and divide by 10. So, zero divided by 10 is. . . .

ST is slow, so I should be fine with that. So if you wanna game anytime between now and 10AM Monday, hit me up. House is open.

Marvel players playing anything else?

Seattle players are a pretty distracting audience to be honest… I don’t blame him, nor do I see it as a lack of being able to focus. We’re always laughing and yelling shit like “GROSS!” or “NICE THROW!” …and I don’t know about him, but people talking in the background is extra distracting when I’m stoned. I’m just too lazy to bust out the headphones.

What can I say, lots of nice throws do in fact happen in ST. It is impressive every time, even when no throw actually was preformed.

Oy, in order to hype the next NWM, I think we should do a series of YouTube shorts promoting the various games that will be held there. As I was baking up some pastries with a friend just now, the idea of one such vid came to mind. I loved it so much that I felt it necessary to share it right away. Let me know if it was pure genius, or if my brain-farts just seemed amusing because of my drug-abusing younger years.

*It’s crucial that we use Beasley for 2 reasons. Firstly, he’s a old skool ST player. Secondly, he’s just plain old. This it not to knock the elderly (I know that white people are sensitive about age–where as we Asians value the wisdom of our seniors), but his bald spot at the bottom of the screen would accentuate the gag of this video short.

Is this amusing to you guys? Or did I completely misjudge the audience.

This is not hype at all. What is supposed to be hype about this video at all? There’s no energy what so ever other then Beasley saying he likes ST. What needs to be shown is Seattle’s footage of amazing matches such as combos and comebacks, and lots of ooh’s and ahh’s from the crowd when said match is playing.

At the end it should tell people need to stop sleeping on Seattle and come to NWM.
