I’m trying to do good at evo this year, which I can’t do if I never play anyone in ST outside of Zach’s house except Nate, a zangief player… I need to learn all the matchups.
And it’s kinda annoying I keep setting aside a whole night for ST and nobody who says they will shows, I could devote friday nights to something better.

He’s got a point, though. most people won’t show up just for ST. It’s a fun game, but Marvel dominates the area. If you just threw out marvel as an option for casuals between ST rounds on a second t.v. or something…

I gotta reorder some parts from him just because I’m wearing everything out so fast… lol. I went from my stick being PS2 to DC, back to PS2, to DC, back to PS2, back to DC, and now to X-box/USB. the Start button’s pretty much done with quick disconnects. Now I gotta solder the ground wire to it directly (which is actually really convenient, in a way)
XTG again - really, there is enough Marvel to go around without Airthrow needing to accomodate…besides, we could also play KOF2002, KOFxi, Neo Geo Battle Coliseum, Street Fighter Alpha 1/2/3, Vampire Savior, KOF98, Fist of the North Star, Mark of the Wolves…and then some…all good legitimate games for anyone to get into and play.
I’ve never looked into Garou, but HnK seems fun. A3 is too fun, and I’m getting more hooked on KoF than 3S lately.
Word, but if people aren’t going to show up, they shouldn’t make it seem like they will, it’s been prettymuch a chronic problem between trying to get people to show up at my house as well as Nate’s for ST.

As for the 2d games mentioned I would be down in a couple of weeks(don’t have next weekend off and going back down to AZ to visit family). I love ST but I was thinking this was more of “EVO Traing Session” type thing and for that I would be a terrible punching bag.
I really wanna play NGBC, SSTenka and HnK. Any KOF is cool as well.

Until spring quarter ends, keep practicing. You will need it to face my Deejay’s tick throw of doom. Ok not really, but trust me I need the ST practice and will make use of your proposed gratherings eventually.

I can understand that most definitely but if you really think about it, you aren’t gonna learn all the matchups up here anyway until there’s more variety up here in terms of character selection. Yes people showing up will indeed help out more than it wouldn’t, but off the top of my head it was Umbrella and Pablo that were gonna show up outside of Nate initially and that’s two Dee Jay players. I managed to make it out to Nate’s when Julien and Umbrella went over there one time (I got there after you left) but it’s hella hard for me to JUST play ST. I was hella losing interest as it’s not exactly my kinda game, but I know you guys play more than just that. One of these days I will make it down there, especially when I’m not on the Eastside anymore, I fuckin hate this area man.

That’s impressive and all, but I’d be more impressed if Balrog did stuff like that on a more difficult matchup for him. It’s much easier to bully and have your way with blanka (UGLY) than say, vega…
It would really probably help my Balrog if I constructed a custom stick where the top row (punches) and the bottom row were more spread apart so I could more comfortably charge up taps with the kickbuttons while still using my punches, cus on a regular stick my palm is too fat or something and I can barely hit the punch buttons while tapping. My biggest weakness as a Balrog player is not charging taps enough and I rarely combo into rushes because my execution sucks balls.
If anyone bothers to show up at my house I will money match you in ST, Garou: MOTW, KOF 2k2 and KOF '98, and Money Idol Exchange (DO NOT FUCK WITH ME IN THIS TRUST ME).
