I gonna chop up some footage from season oneās ST tournament tapes and make them available on umbrellastyleās site. Alex has been a lazy bum, and hasnāt added content in forever. I figured that if I went to the trouble of editing a few vids, heād be obliged to open a section of the his site dedicated to media. I could be mistaken.
He said that heād format the player profiles and pics, which was why I wrote them up to begin with. But after a month or so, he still hasnāt done anything with them. At this rate, the āageā field on the questionnaires wonāt be valid by the time he puts the profiles up on the SBC main page.
Any way, to the point. If you took part in any matches in season one at Preppyās and do not wish for footage featuring your play to be included, let me know. Iām sure there isnāt anyone out there all that insecure about their gaming prowess, but I thought that it would be prudent to offer the perfunctory disclaimer. Besides, itāll be made available on www.SobatCarnival.com, so itās not as though anyone would see it anyway.
Keep in mind that I only plan on putting up my favorite matches. By āfavoriteā I really donāt mean technically sound games. Iām planning on including the funny matches like Tempest vs. Deezo and Pablo_the_Drunk. Iāll include lopsided matches like Nate crushing some n00b in the finals sweep on 7/6. Iāll even include some dumb ones, so there will certainly be a share of Full Screen getting punished for being retarded.
I hope the āBITE YO FACE NIGGA?! IMA BITE YO FACE NIGGA!ā makes itās way into the highlight video. I donāt mind you putting my stuff out there. I just hope more content is added to his site cause I actually like going there. Fuckin Alex. You donāt be that lazy when youāre White.

Ok, so we need to explore our options outside of CCC2 for console ST, because we are definitely done with that shit
I vote we play on HSF2, only picking ST characters. Iāve been trying it out lately, and it actually feels like the arcade to me. Moreso than fucking CCC2 at least

Where Mandelās Sagat j.short about 6 times back and forth, and Kenneth just walks under repeatedly. Laughably bad, and yet unquestionably intense. I donāt care WTF Airthrow says (on SBC forums) about the richness of our scene or how he and XTG carried the torch. This was the most apt representation of ST before Julien showed up. If any of us OTHER than Nate had attended Evo in our prior to 5/4 form, we would have gone 2 and out. We fucking sucked! This was my favorite match from all of season 1.

7/6 Tempest vs. Deezo
Only really notable thing in this one was how it ends. Mandel does a Chun super, Kenneth jumps over it. Kenneth had forever and a day to do just about anything, as Mandelās Chun had no life. But Kenneth walks against Chun from behind and waits too long, so Mandel throws him when Chun recovers from the super.

Grand finals were Nate just sweeps and rapes the shit out of some n00b. 8:2 my ass, T-Akiba doesnāt know shit!
Will do more as time permits. Donāt want to go into it since I kinda want some people to speculate and be surprised.
I wasnāt allowed to play in that one due to the color of my skin. I had to enter in the loserās bracket, so I missed a lot of matches. Iāve actually been wanting to watch this tape to see if there were any worthwhile matches. Veteru also didnāt let people film his games. I remember that the finals were rather intense, but I donāt remember much else.
First of all, can you pick āoldā versions in AE? Secondly, Iāve heard that Old Sagat (or perhaps just SSF2 Sagat) isnāt as potent as he was in the arcade version. Any truth to it?
I believe that AE also had minor differences in gameplay. For example, I donāt think you can kara cancel fireballs with Ryu/Ken/Sagat to shorten the recovery time. But itās definitely better than having ~6 frames of input lag. I remember when Beasley was teaching me Chun Li combos. When I started doing them consistently, I said, āit weird, I have to input the l.roundhouse BEFORE the l.forward animation even finishes. I thought there werenāt any chain canceling with normals in this game.ā
Yes, you can pick old versions of characters, and you can also hold start while selecting ST to get the original arcade versions of the characters (storing supers, etc)
I donāt care what we use, as long as it isnāt CCC2

the only problem with it is the glitch with Clawās inputs (you have to charge down, then hit kick, then hit up)
BUT, if someone has a modded PS2, they released a fixed version in Japan that I wouldnāt mind buying if we were going to use it

So apparently, the re-released version of HSF2 also fixed O.Sagatās tiger shot recovery, among other things

I remember getting schooled by my scrub ass friends because I couldnāt walldive at all back when Vega was my main and we were playing on HSF2 arcade board (BTW What mobo is HSF2, CPS2, Naomiā¦?)
