Last night had matches with: Jeff, Frank, Mandel, Nolan and King…anyone else I’m missing?
Just wanted to say good shit to everyone and give a few shout outs.
Jeff - I seriously think your Viper is probably the best in Seattle. It’s no offense to Nolan, or James (red venom) or anything, but your taking away a lot of your bad habits…your execution is on point almost all the time…your adaptation is getting a lot better…your making great strides in improvement. And when I play you, if I play a lesser Viper, I’m pretty much positive they have no chance against me. Your helping me a lot with these matches man, if there’s any way I can help you out, lemme know!
Frank: Good matches man…sorry that I didn’t play much Ryu on you. I had to dip out cuz of dinner and exercising and stuff…but hopefully we can get a session in with main’s going at it.
Mandel: That was honestly one of the best Sagat’s I’ve played. Your spacing ability goes beyond a lot of players and it was really difficult to figure out how to exactly get around it. Utilizing that far j.hk was really good…I felt as if the matchup we played is exactly what separates the bad players from the good. It’s 1 thing to know how to throw fire balls, and keep out with pokes. But you also knew how to obtain momentum with Sagat in tough situations, and I think that most Sagat players don’t know how to do that and instead lose because of it. I know you said you couldn’t uppercut, and you didn’t like the matches…but you were teaching me vital things throughout that matchup, so thanks man.
Nolan: Played you the most last night…what’d we have 35 games? That Abel’s dirty man! Your execution is really good with him. I think that you should start playing a zoning game a bit more often though, like you were in the end of our session. You know that you do really well when you apply pressure, but you seem to get beaten when the momentum is on you, or during a spacing situation (which is obviously part of playing ABel). But I feel that if you can break that barrier of spacing, then you can really start laying down beast status! Good games man, I think the quality of play was really good throughout pretty much every match we played.
King - That Akuma’s hella good man…looks like you just gotta work on a few execution based aspects, but overall you look like you got a pretty good hold on Akuma. I hope you stay with him for a lil while…I’d really like to learn off of you and see how you play and see if I can add anything towards my own Akuma. Anyways, good matches man, I hope we can play again some time.
All shoutouts aside…I’m REALLY trying to play this game to get better. I’ve seen a lot of personal improvements within my Ryu, and if anyone’s really trying to play to get “serious” or to really try and improve, I’d love to get and give feedback during or after sessions. So if anyone’s interested…hit me up!
