or if you’re really trying to get pumped up:

I just listen to , shit gets me goin!

I listen to this song while I work out, it makes working out awesome. I should try it for SFIV

Listen to The Mars Volta ever? Look up any song from the album De-loused in the Comatorium and you’ll probably love em’, or not, I’m only a part-time psychic so I can only recommend things people like half the time.

You want to know of my favorite band of all time?

The Blood Brothers

I don’t think there has ever been a time where one of their songs pop up on my play list and I skip it. Sucks they broke up. :frowning:

Yeah dude that album’s tight. Have you heard Panic Attack yet?

Edit: Jared, that’s a pretty good comparison. They pretty much ripped off TMV completely in the first track of that album. http://www.playlist.com/searchbeta/tracks#fall%20of%20troy%20introverting I’m not complaining though, I enjoy them both.

I’m mad that I can have an online Marvel player match with Rex0r who lives all the way out in St.Louis that was pretty decent, but I can’t even play Mickey in a game of SFIV without horrendous lag. What in the hell?

Nah, Alpha 2 is WAAAAYYYYY better than Alpha 1 or 3. It’s a really solid game minus a few annoying things like the Valle CC bullshit (which is pretty major, but people love games with broken shit)

I dont! fuck broken stupid shit. The i press 2 buttons and you stop blocking for a free 60% combo for a guy with minimal execution is just plan out retarded and pretty much a race to meter imo. Fuck all that noise, some games have broken shit, but at least you could do something about it, Alpha 2… Nope.

Without actually making this an Alpha 2 discussion, the Valle CC doesn’t make you stop blocking. It’s them activating and then sweeping you while you’re standing (because no one crouches all the time). There are different ways around it (counter CC, alpha counter, etc). And also in A2 to start a custom you have to hit three buttons not two. And I think Valle CC is nowhere near as bad as the infinites in Alpha 3 (plus Akuma VC unblockable). But that’s another story for another day.

I played a bit of Alpha one, but never touched alpha 2. Of course Alpha 3 was my game back in the day but…still wondered what alpha 2 was like back then. I know it introduced sakura.

Just wanted to post and say I had an epic set against frank tonight, sorry to deny you mickey but we shall play soon! GG’s.
I started playing cammy today and she is suprisingly realllly fun…crazy rushdown shit in there. I think my sagat is still going strong and I’m hoping to help people realize the strength of his kara-specials…and how at range you aren’t safe and you need to be very careful against him. Getting better at his footsies too, which btw are very gross.
Frank from tonight if I can I’d like to give a few pieces of advice to your viper, which btw is getting better (I noticed a few FFF’s! very nice).
When hitting cr.short I would advise going st.short->cr.strong instead of st.short->cr.forward…I believe it is a faster and overall more useful link which you can cancel.
I saw you were using some crazy jump angles to make RH look ambiguous and then cross-up, which imo is very nice and will net you some big damage down the road.
Make sure to take advantage of viper’s feints because they really DO make your opponent freeze for a second (or react favorably). I noticed it a few times but I think you could really put it to good use.
I saw you go for low forwardxxmess of button inputs to ultra only twice? I think, and you did land it once. I’m not gonna lie, although it could be useful that seems like a parlor trick atm because I don’t think your viper is at the level where that is really something that will come in handy…but it is very flashy and I’m still suprised to see it in action when it happens. I hope you don’t take offense to that.
Your bison is still very strong, all of the crazy tricks and baits you have with him are very powerful tools I think you do well with. Looking forward to playing with you again!

Quick shoutout to DEEZO for sending me a message and making me laugh halfway through one of my matches. SCOOOOOOPS

Thanks for the viper advice pimpin. Hitting that FFF made my night!

cammy is tight, chun is better, viper is the baddest bitch in the game

Rex is my dude. Its tight how good the St. Louis crew is with basically just playing against themselves which is like 5 people.

I started to realize not to long ago that broken shit = fun, as long as more than a few characters have it, and it’s not TOO inescapable, like MVSF or other games with inescapable infinites.

Last night had matches with: Jeff, Frank, Mandel, Nolan and King…anyone else I’m missing?

Just wanted to say good shit to everyone and give a few shout outs.

Jeff - I seriously think your Viper is probably the best in Seattle. It’s no offense to Nolan, or James (red venom) or anything, but your taking away a lot of your bad habits…your execution is on point almost all the time…your adaptation is getting a lot better…your making great strides in improvement. And when I play you, if I play a lesser Viper, I’m pretty much positive they have no chance against me. Your helping me a lot with these matches man, if there’s any way I can help you out, lemme know!

Frank: Good matches man…sorry that I didn’t play much Ryu on you. I had to dip out cuz of dinner and exercising and stuff…but hopefully we can get a session in with main’s going at it.

Mandel: That was honestly one of the best Sagat’s I’ve played. Your spacing ability goes beyond a lot of players and it was really difficult to figure out how to exactly get around it. Utilizing that far j.hk was really good…I felt as if the matchup we played is exactly what separates the bad players from the good. It’s 1 thing to know how to throw fire balls, and keep out with pokes. But you also knew how to obtain momentum with Sagat in tough situations, and I think that most Sagat players don’t know how to do that and instead lose because of it. I know you said you couldn’t uppercut, and you didn’t like the matches…but you were teaching me vital things throughout that matchup, so thanks man.

Nolan: Played you the most last night…what’d we have 35 games? That Abel’s dirty man! Your execution is really good with him. I think that you should start playing a zoning game a bit more often though, like you were in the end of our session. You know that you do really well when you apply pressure, but you seem to get beaten when the momentum is on you, or during a spacing situation (which is obviously part of playing ABel). But I feel that if you can break that barrier of spacing, then you can really start laying down beast status! Good games man, I think the quality of play was really good throughout pretty much every match we played.

King - That Akuma’s hella good man…looks like you just gotta work on a few execution based aspects, but overall you look like you got a pretty good hold on Akuma. I hope you stay with him for a lil while…I’d really like to learn off of you and see how you play and see if I can add anything towards my own Akuma. Anyways, good matches man, I hope we can play again some time.

All shoutouts aside…I’m REALLY trying to play this game to get better. I’ve seen a lot of personal improvements within my Ryu, and if anyone’s really trying to play to get “serious” or to really try and improve, I’d love to get and give feedback during or after sessions. So if anyone’s interested…hit me up!

Hey Mickey, wanna add me on XBL? Imperator215

Fa show dirty!

I could def use some Ryu pointers.

Any thoughts about my Rufus in the few games we played?

I would say that you need to work on advancing ground a bit more safely. I was able to bait out dive kicks from you really easily. You use df+mk a lot which is okay, however can be punished greatly if whiffed or focused…additionally, after blocked I’m not sure if it puts you in the place where you want to be for dive kicks and all. I would suggest using it a bit more sparingly.

You needed to work a bit on anti airs as well…d.mp is pretty okay from what I understand.

All in all, your gonna need to work on advancing ground without using dive kicks or df mk…I would suggest just walking forward more when trying to advance on your opponent.
