Probably depends on how deep the splash was, but yeah it’d work.
My issue was really the concept of people mashing out of block strings, not really mixups. I think the hitstun vs blockstun thing answered my question (wasn’t taking that into consideration at all).

Can someone tell me the way they do SJC with Viper? I mean, the literal inputs that you do.
I am trying to do something simple as hell, combo into EX ground smash, Superjump Cancel flamekick>Ultra.
I can cancel the recovery on the ground smash with a suprer jump, but if I try to do qcb, uf+K to do an instant SJC flame kick, either nothing comes out, or I jump up and do a regular kick.
Are you doing ground smash, d, u to super jump, seeing yourself in the air and then flamekicking, or is there an easier way? And which button flame kick? THNKS

Okay, apparently the trick is to burning kick as soon as you leave the ground… I am doing this notation (in case anybody else needs help, I’m sure real vipers already know this):
:hp: >:dp: + :2p:>:d: , :uf: , flamekick.
So the last part is just,
:d:, :uf:, :qcb:+:hk: ?
No shortcuts, just fast fingers?
gross. No shortcut for cammy’s instant air drills, either?
Man, I can’t hit two buttons at the same time. This is too hard.

Yeah Grant I am not using any shortcuts, I tried using them and they just did not work for me, so I am doing legit superjump and then just flamekick motion as soon as I leave the ground (Then you can do HP knuckle or ulta in corner)
I thought Cammy had an instant air drill shortcut via tiger knee motion, qcf, uf+K?
I thought the command for cammy’s air drill was qcb+K, although if it isn’t, then LOL.

that viper bnb is correct the way you have it.
fierce->ex.seismo->Super Jump->Burning Flame Kick.
I find it best to view her Super Jump like it in itself is both a Special Move and a Normal. Sounds weird but it makes sense to me any way.

Same thing, qcb, u/b+K reverse tiger knee should work.
She can only do it while jumping forward, so its actually qcb > up forward.
:qcb::uf: +:hk:
She can do the EX version in any direction though.

Brent droppin’ knowlege!! :tup:
It would be hella funny and also gross if EVERYONE in the northwest just started using Viper and Cammy.
I’ve actually officially picked him up as a secondary along with Balrog. After about 2 hours in training mode, I figured out HELLA shit with this guy and with that my speculations of him being so high on the tier list are no longer there…that character is fucking crazy.

Im thinking my character choices for this game will finalize at one of two points.
Chun/Sagat/Seth or Chun/Sagat/Honda.
Still a long way to go with my first two characters though so this is just speculation right now I suppose.

Jared- I was SUPER impressed with your Seth at Preppys, you were executing left and right. Good stuff.

Im gonna be a bit honest here…I think my Chun sucks pretty bad. Not that she is an easy character by ANY means, but I ALWAYS feel like im at a disadvantage when I’m playing her. She is a bumpy ride for a learning curve for me, and with relatively poor execution I make too many mistakes to really be effective.
With that said I do know of areas where I can really improve on and I will be messing up people’s shit eventually. I need way better footsies and I think that is going to be the thing I can improve on the most. I also need to solidify my anti-air choices. I need to find ways to force my opponent into favorable situations that I can capitalize on.
Sagat is my Backup/Alternative character. He is a strong choice to handle my unfavorable matchups. When I say that I dont mean “x character is a 6-4 against chun” I mean as a personal player I have problems fighting certain PLAYSTYLES that I believe I can overcome better when I play Sagat. He has some very effective and simple tools as well which are very nice to have (Uppercut, Knee, Amazing Fireball). I also find him fun to play and he is a good change of pace from Chun-Li.

I was executing SPD’s more than I wanted to. :looney:
Shawn, it’s refreshing to see a newer player understand their strengths and weaknesses as a player instead of just passing it off as “Chun just sucks in this game.”
I just wanted to commend you and say that it’s good to see you really mann’ing up and understanding yourself as a player…
hit me up on aim if you ever want to talk strats my dude!
