They have cards and they use the zenny (battle money like Gold in tekken) to buy the costumes/colors on the mobile site. This only works if you are in Japan sadly.

What’s that everybody?

J/k!

It’s good.

So since Trace did better against Diago than Mago did does that mean Trace has a better Sagat than Mago?!

Honestly it just seemed like Diago plays against Mago so much that he was able to read him exceptionally well. Also, Ryu > Sagat fuck what you heard Ryu is the best character in SF4.

Still got a lot to learn buddy…

Alright so I thought I understood this game but clearly I don’t…

So when I’m Gief and I cross-up, splash cr.jab, cr.jab, cr.short xx GH, but the opponent blocks it, if I continue the combo should there be any way for them to reversal out of it? I thought this was a block string, but I’ve been shoryuken’d out of it after like, the first jab.

Or am I just somehow missing the combo and they’re breaking through?

(note, I think this has only happened online)

I know greenhand is unsafe on block and reversal uppercut can happen there. Online there will be some lag and this will get in the way of your inputs, and it might register has having a window between attacks…sort of like when you mess up the timing on a link combo there is a window there. So if your opponent is blocking and mashing uppercut, and that “window” occurs, he gets a free reversal. This is why everyone hates playing online. Sessions ftw

There’s a difference between block stun, and hit stun…a lot of jabs can be reversal’ed out of if you try to jab again since the block stun doesn’t give much frame advantage.

It IS a block string, however it is one with gaps…

Now if your HITTING them with this string, and they srk out…then yes, you are messing up the combo.

What do you necessarily mean by one with gaps? Are you saying that certain combos contain gaps, or is it the way I’m inputing the combo that’s creating the gap?

I think what he means is that, it is a true combo on hit, but on block the blockstun is less than the hitstun so there will be gaps they can SRK through even when executed perfectly.

Either could be true. There are combos, for example, that link when the opponent is in hitstun, but can be reversaled on block due to the blockstun being shorter than the hitstun.

Going by the zangief frame data, it looks like cr. lp gives you +5 advantage on hit, but +2 on block. The startup on zangiefs cr. lp is 4 frames, so it will link if the first one hits. However, on block, there is a 2 frame gap between when the other person is out of blockstun and when the cr. lp becomes active. Startup on the shoryu is 3 frames, which means that the cr. lp will beat it, but only by a frame. Given that the margin for error is incredibly small, and that online lag makes precise timing very difficult, this string is pretty risky, and can be reversal shoryu’d unless your timing is basically perfect.

I’d also point out that since there is a gap where the opponent isn’t in stun, they can slip something in between the jabs even if your timing is good. Characters with teleports can port out, or they can throw a move with invulnerability on startup and potentially beat the jab, so beware.

Fuck Daigo, that Jin comeback vs. V-13 was tight!

I kinda think Blazblue sucks.

+5 on block for a crouching jab!? :amazed: That seems like a lot. The most frame advantage Vega has is 3 off a blocked DF+Roundhouse.

mandels right. blaz blue kinda sucks.

from what i understand a chain is like how shotos to cr lk, lp, lk and that cant be shoryu’d if you block it

but i think if you are blocking a link string like your gief one it can be shoryu’d if it is blocked or if your link timing is off

probably wanna spd that nigga if he blocks the first jab and if he jumps rh next time to kick him out of the air and if he backdashes you should cr rh

feel free to correct me as im probably wrong

Damn you all are haters, its alright I’m cool playing against random people on Live with otaku-ass gamertags. SSJKisaragi and shit.

+1 I’m actually starting to like KOF even more than Blazblue, lol!

the +5 is on hit. It’s +2 on block. The craziest frame advantage is off of a blocked lvl 2 focus with a dash. Chun gets +7 off of that.

man, this game kinda sucks. haters.

Mechanica looking real salty over there? Que pasa?
