Thank goodness for more Viper players… I was playing my friend Peter (FlashMetroid) online and he was raping me whenever he picked her. Granted he’s hella good but I was able to beat him when he picked other characters. I just think I might have done better if I had more than zero Viper experience (I hardly play with Nolan).
That and we had to stop playing eventually because the lag was atrocious.
Can I play some flashmetroid?!

Dunno if anybody’s seen these yet but here are the newest Daigo kumite videos.

This time around he fights Mago, Iyo, Nuki, Nemo, and Shiro. In part 1 he fights Mago and Iyo, part 2 he fights Nuki and Nemo, and in part 3 he fights Shiro. These fights took place before Evo.
EDIT-Daigo does level 2 focus, f+fierce, low strong, low strong, low forward, rh hurricane kick against Nuki. =/
Nice matches. Wish they had put up some of the losses though, or just all the matches: \

Mandel, thanks for the link.
Honestly I think SFIV is my favorite fighting game of all time right now. I feel like I still struggle to understand it sometimes. Just as much as ST it feels so simple to learn, so hard to master, without all of the gross random voodoo that entails being an ST player.
ST is a different kind of magic, but you will go crazy playing that game with how it treats you sometimes. Playing ST in tournaments is like being a stripper with an abusive boyfriend.

word up JEFF. Ill be on later tonight.
I felt like Daigo probably shouldn’t of lost to Shiro in that third round, but it’s not like it matters much anyway.
i wont be on tonight… but sunday for sure.
He lost to shiro? I saw those matches the other day and got bored of seeing daigo’s ryu win so I closed it during shiro’s match. D’oh.

Yeah but it was kind of a gross win. They were both low on health, ultras ready, daigo had no ex, shiro had one…shiro scored a knockdown during footsies and charged up a lvl 3 focus on daigos face when he was getting up…cr.fierce->falling sky. Lol top tier stratz. I understand that focus baiting and then later charging to 3 and letting it go is a decent strat but when you see that shit coming and don’t get off a wakeup uppercut you must be REALLY thrown off or something.
I agree, but you DO have to realize that if there was ANY time to do that tactic, it’s when your opponent can’t make ANY mistakes (at about 10 - 15% in health). There then becomes risk in jumping back (because of the fake out into c.hp or ultra), and there becomes risk too when reversalling (a dash back), and there becomes risk by blocking because of the primary threat of the FA lvl 3.
I’m thinking that it was a tough situation no matter what where jumping away would have been best.

I realize what you’re saying mickey and you do have a point. I myself am quick to uppercut on wakeup often (not usually the best option) so I was obviously a little biased from my own perspective as a player.
I played a championship match today online for the first time in a long time, and I think I’ll keep it that way. I chose sagat and was fighting a rose player (this was final battle, I kind of just wanted to get it out of the way)
The dude had three bars so I thought maybe it would be legit? But there was a nasty amount of input lag on my end. Im sure he had the same deal so it was pretty lame, I couldn’t get a hit confirm combo at any time which was dissapointing. I won the first round due to a clutch lvl 2 focus -> ultra (caught him sliding). Second round I won as well, mostly through zoning and smart usage of knee’s. The one thing I guess I did enjoy was that I used f+rh as a kara for light knee to anti-air to win the second round. It just feels tight to see your character take a huge step forward, then leap into a tiger crush.
Most likely won’t step into championship mode ever again, but I’m glad I got that “G2 Final Battle” out of the way I suppose.
