We Need More MvC3 Players In The NW!

I haven’t played Okami (yet),but she looks like an awesome character with a lot of variety. The crazy ass whip, the ice machine gun, and the buff super that covers the entire screen just looks fun.

In my opinion, every character that has been released since EVO has been great. The pre-EVO cast to me was pretty boring.

Yes! Comin with more hits than the Braves and the Yankees!

Nah I feel that. Ammy (hate that nickname but hate typing out her name even more) looks strong and interesting. Should be a beast for sure (no pun intended). February 15th can’t get here any sooner.

This is the second part of the Ametarasu video. It’s not very good, but if you look at the tag out at 2:20, it looks like you get a half-a-meter or more just for tagging someone in during an air combo.

I have been wondering why meters seem to build so fast. Better learn to break those.

For a MvC noob like me, just looking at the Ametarasu video, I don’t understand how the game can be balanced. Plus, he has 3 different modes… so that’s like Gen plus another one… and a counter move with 2 possible outcomes… plus, he took of half of Ryu’s health with one combo. Argh, my mind is pretty much exploding.

The funny thing is that everyone has moves like that I think that cover the whole screen… so it seems like everybody’s overpowered…? Idk. What a crazy game man.

But you can see how the game can be fun right?

Basically, things like push blocking allow you to alter block stun, which allows you to get out of traps, and escape rush down, which is why characters can have such amazing offensive options. The free hyper combos off of OTG’s and the inclusion of the X-Factor which allows you to do more damage and cancel anything to continue combos allows for every character to do a lot of damage off of one opportunity. So while every character won’t be equal, I think Capcom is planning for them all to have a chance. Every character has an air dash too, to allow them to have a lot more mobility to keep from getting locked down. I have noticed in a lot of videos that chip damage is huge, which I think is good since runaway is so strong in MVC.

Also one of the biggest differences between Marvel and Street Fighter is that most everything is safe. Seth said this is something they made a deliberate point to highlight.

Oh yea, even if I don’t know what’s going on, the game is a joy to just watch. And with such a giant cast of Marvel and Capcom characters and personalities, anyone can try. Even some of my friends who don’t play fighting games have expressed excitement regarding it.

Also, I hope they have trials like in SF where I can just sit back and understand the game mechanics like the push block thing you mention.

Amaterasu is a girl, by the way.

Yeah. If you don’t like Ammy, maybe just Ama for short?
Isn’t the universal airdash out, by the way? I thought they took that out.
I am curious to know if push-blocking has the same kind of stun-canceling effect that it did in MvC2. It always seemed like one of the most pro things about that game.

It might be out and I would be okay with that. I haven’t been noticing it in videos recently.

Yeah, they were like, we want all the characters have tools, but not the same tools.
Ryu with an air dash is like… I mean… Yes, one way to get balance is to give every character the same tools. You receive: Lowest passing grade.

Actually, if they really want to even the playing field, give Ryu a triangle jump. Ha.

The Bitch looks pretty nice in this. I was skeptical at first but that made me a believer, she seems pretty versatile with her summons and what not. Amaterasu/Dante/Viewtiul Joe for Team Kamiya…I wish Gene was in there instead of VJ(even though his games are cool)…

I need a VGA cable for PS2 so I can finally beat Okami…

EDIT: Gene was Mikami’s creation, still wish he was in it. Maybe if someone make a VJ video before the game comes out I’ll have a change of heart…

i dont think all chars can air dash.
I believe hulk cant, and aurthur cant. i could be wrong, but Mike Ross played him and didnt dash, and someone in the background said that he couldnt air dash ( arthur )

this game is looking better by the day.

ryu and chris cant air dash either. arthur has no regualr dash either

Holy shit. That’s a lot of moves.

The more I see of this game, the more convinced I am that I will drop every other fighter to play this.

I really want to see more Wesker gameplay though. I want him on my team. If Hsien Ko is in, then I’ll be adding her for sure because she just seems like she would be awesome (never played darkstalkers but have watched some videos). Final slot at this point is kinda open, but I’m thinking either dormammu or trish. God, I cannot fucking wait for this game!

Edit: Also want to see Shuma-Gorath

Only for a few minutes. My ps2 had already died when it came out I think.

I will argue that having so much complexity will turn off a lot of people. However, because the game has so many popular characters and a lot of people are Marvel and/or Capcom fans, it will still appeal to casuals which is where the $$$ are.

Complexity is good. If they dont like it, they shouldnt play the game in the first place. MvC3 looks like it has so much more to offer than SF4, thats why im so excited for it.

Felicia Tron Arthur

Dog Guy Girl.

They made his teleport down, down, E? That’s gonna be hella easy dog.
No more wall-climb for me!

lol, that sounds like such a wack ass team. but that is totally the beauty of this game. And complexity is definitely good.

lol it is pretty wack. But felicia has crazy offense from what i ve seen and if tron still has her godlike assist, then corner pressure will be awesome with the felicia pet super. And arthur is just a zone monster.
