Shotguns, though? Check out the SPAS. Seriously. It’s the only thing that makes me think twice about rolling with a stinger. I wish it had better attachments, though :(. There’s hardly any point in having a heartbeat sensor if you need to switch weapons before you shoot people.
After hearing that high-damage LMKs kill in two hits with stopping power, I’ve been using the AUG off and on, too. It’s pretty good! It’s kind of annoying having to equip the ‘grip’ attachment for good accuracy, though. I dunno.
My current in each category: M16, AUG, Barret, and SPAS/Stinger.
What’s good about SMGs? Can you run faster with them, or something?
Also, got the lance, and it seems cool, but very limited. For vehicles, the stinger is probably better, and for land targets, you’re probably better off with a grenade launcher. Speaking of which: fucking grenade launchers!! They are pretty damn good. As deadly as a grenade, way faster to use, way faster to hit, easier to aim, and you get two! They couldn’t give us two frag grenades or two sentexes, so why do grenade launchers get two rounds? Noob-tube, indeed.
The deal with SMG’s is that they fire really fast, and the first unlock you get for them makes them fire faster. Its called Rapid Fire.
I have an outfit (mainly for lulz) equipped with the Vector + Rapid Fire and the Glock18 Machine Pistol, Perks: Unlimited Sprint, Faster Running, and Scrambler. Flash Grenades and Throwing Knife. Purpose? Run around really fast like an idiot and try to shoot people from behind. Rapid Fire Vector probably spits out its entire clip in less than 3 seconds, I swear. It’s gonna get replaced as soon as I unlock the p90 though which is a badass weapon.
I usually Outfit with the M4A1 + FMJ, Perks: Slight Pro, Stopping Pro, Scrambler. Alternate: M4A1 Bling + FMJ and Silencer, Perks: Bling, Hardline, Scrambler.
I prefer scrambler to Commando and Steady Aim, because its silly. If anything, it probably just helps people know you’re around. I almost never get hip-fire kills, and if I was gonna knife someone, an extra foot of range wouldn’t help seal the deal.
Chopper Gunner is probably the best killstreak, btw. If you can hit chopper gunner, you have a solid chance of reaching 25 kills and calling in the nuke. That shit is rediculous.
SMG’s are good because they shoot fast? I think I’ll pass.
Although I guess if you were playing hardcore, they’d be awesome. Since they’d be equivalent in damage to anything else (i.e. you die).
The only situation I can think of where scrambler would be good is if you tend to sneak around with unsilenced weapons. Or if you get killed by claymores a lot, I guess, but you could use SitRep for that. Speaking of which, SitRep gets my vote for the worst fucking perk, beating out scrambler by a nose.
The way scrambler works now is extra silly. A half-scrambled radar is still pretty usable, so it just tells you how far away the guy with scrambler is without conferring a real advantage to the scrambler. Instead, scrambler should make your radar cut in and out periodically. It would be harder to gauge distance, and more annoying for those being scrambled. I’m not sure if it would be worth using, but it would help a little.
I like bling for non-hardcore, too… I don’t always use it, but I think there’s a reasonable argument for starting off with a gun that has 1) a good sight, 2) heartbeat sensor, 3) grenade launcher (pick two). Or maybe if you’re sneaky, 4) a silencer.
One Man Army and Scavenger seem to be limited in their usefulness, so I guess that helps, too. I usually just swap weapons if I’m running low on ammo, but I dunno. I guess it could depend on the game type & weapon you’re using.
From what I hear of hardcore I guess if you stub your toe you usually die so I haven’t touched it yet. Plus without all of the unlocks whats the point yet? Ill just get beat out by other dudes who have shit I don’t. I like the game where its less based on items used.
i usually run M16 with silencer and heartbeat sensor with bling, cold blooded and ninja or commando. and stinger for secondary with throwing knife and stun. sneakiest class ever.
what are all your kill to deaths? mine is like 1.25 or something.
I tried playing free-for-all, I basically went with that setup (except just normal grenades). I can’t believe there were people running around without that stuff - they got wrecked.
But most of the time I just play ground war, and when you’re playing domination it’s not such a big deal. You already have a good idea where people are going to be, and it doesn’t matter much if you die a couple times. That’s where the grenade launcher really shines.
I think I’ve got 10% completion for single player, and like 75% for multiplayer. I may never get SitRep Pro, that shit is garbage, are you even serious. Even if everybody on the other team was using tactical insertion and claymores, I’d be like… eh, maybe.
Nah, that’s just the nature of the beast. I’ve never found playing FPS games with people I don’t know to be very fun for long. Then again, what game isn’t more fun when playing with friends?
Real talk though, If I’m not able to connect and play MW2 with at least one person on my friends list, I won’t play online. And yea, what game isn’t more fun playing with friends? I need to have another session soon. I’m starting to miss all the homies.
