Good teams but I almost forgot that Punish guy team: Cap/Nova/Strange!! I think I’ll play this team on lag. My Magneto/Strange/Doom gets completely destroyed on laggy matches. Also Cap is pretty easy, I think I can learn him in one afternoon XD
On Magneto/Strange/Doom, things are getting pretty interesting. I’m learning some more advanced combos with Magnus, but I still can’t do his new hyper grav loop (that one with sj > dash > air M> air H > s. H > HyperGrav). Doesn’t matter too much though, his old H > H > HyperGrav works well Also I NEED to improve my Doom. I didn’t give him any attention this whole month!
And Disruptor assist for Strange is too good. Front jump + call Mag + teleport makes Magneto so hidden people can’t see the beam coming. Pretty easy follow up with s.M > IP > S > TK H teleport. Not even saying that is a very fast and hard to punish assist on neutral that allows you to setup anything you want (including EoA). AANND missiles for easy FoF loop conversions from midscreen to corner, don’t even need to use midscreen FoF loop! I hope tortonon and Dr. Snake Tits show us the wonders of this team, because I talk like a pro, but I’m still a scrub XD
Snake tits better use the tech I recorded for him though. I didnt sleep that day since I was recording. This TRB better be good.
I’m starting to wonder if there’s any reliable ways to use Strange/Strider and reliably combo after Vajra connections. Maybe at certain heights you have enough time to teleport in and hit them before they get the hard knockdown. Maybe even enough time to lay a red grace and OTG.
you can combo by crossovering Vajra in the middle of Strange’s blockstrings and TKneeing a grace while you launch the enemy into the air for Strider to pin him down… I’ve tried to EoA from that scenario but without success. It’s a 1.600.000 team shell, so I gave it up without much effort… but I’m sure someone’s done some work in that matter.
Speaking of matters: I’m more and more inclined to use anchor-Strange with Magneto. Stephen is an enhanced Sentinel, since bolts have more durability than drones, allow for mid-bolt grabbing and stuff pretty much any other thing, without the disadvantage of having to travel slowly during the screen. I’d say the optimal MSS in this game is Magneto/Spencer/Strange. This team is hella strong. Even more than the Nemo-one, I’d say, specially because Strange wont be with two combo-extending assists, but with the fastest beam assist possible. Oh, and if you get a hit through disruptor while crossing up, and you followup with palm~swords~dash~palm, you are already in optimal mid-screen flame-loop height.
Man it feels good to stick with a team and learn this kind of stuff
I’m messing around with Wolverine/Strange. Wolverine can do some cheap stuff with bolts, he can combo off his instant overhead without using XF (the “Ricky Ortiz”). And with Berserker Slash assist Strange can finally crossup an opponent at the corner! But I still need an anchor that is not Vergil.

How can you instant overhead? Ive been trying but bolts doesnt hit a low opponent regardless if you hit them with an overhead light first unless they’re big as fuck ala Hulk. I can’t get it to work on a regular size character like nova thats crouching

<div class=“QuoteText”>Hmmm, I def didn’t think of dorm. Though I tend to think of missiles as a requirement to play dorm (stylistic thing, certainly not claiming missile-less dorm is bad. A mistake, maybe, but not bad). (Joke)<br>
<br>
The main gameplan I run with dante and bolts is, if you can get bolts out safe, you can teleport in, land, then box jump crossup. I LOVE bolts dante. So many good thirds, ill really need to think on it. Front runners currently are, in no partic order, nova vergil doom, and now dorm. Wolvie could be good too, great even, if and ONLY IF bolts give him his old otg pickup off slide into fatal claw loops. Ill have to try it!</div>
</blockquote>
Yo good news, after hitting the lab for a while, A) Wolv can do fatal claw loops (dash back call assist slide), and B) pick up off throws (Walk back slightly after assist, slide). I did the fatal claw loop off tatsu conversion and also raw. Not sure if a dante conversion will allow it. Would be sick<div><br></div><div>EDIT: It does. Tested it off a simple instant overhead using Jam Session, and B slash using Jam session. Enjoy :)</div>
Which team do you guys think is better and why?<div><br></div><div>Nova (Centurion Rush) / Strange (EoA) / Doom (Plasma Beam)</div><div><br></div><div>or</div><div><br></div><div>Nova (Centurion Rush) / Strange (BoB) / Doom (Hidden Missiles)</div>
<div>@Cristian88</div><div><br></div>Both good for their own reasons. Probably comes down to which gives you more optimized combos when Nova hits someone. It’s basically Nova with 2 of the strongest support characters in the game so you can probably mix and match assists and get a lot of good shit for the neutral. Bolts and Plasma Beam are great for clearing up projectiles, other assists and durpy normals so you can’t go wrong with either of those. EoA and Hidden Missiles are both great as more defensive assists that protect you from getting put in combos. <div><br></div><div>You’re using the same characters so you’ll get strong results no matter which set of assists you use. Even F.Champ switches back and forth between plasma beam and missiles depending on matchup.</div>

Yes, that sucks. Won’t work against crouching or little opponents because Bolts hits so high. But I actually found a good team that can possibily work: Wolverine/Strange/Hawkeye. With Slash/Bolts/Quick Shot. Quick shot allows the overhead to hit, allows Fatal Claw loops (easier than bolts) and it’s a great assist for Strange. I still can’t keep up with Wolverine rushdown, as I’ve been playing zoners or slower characters all this time. But I will give a try.<div>Oh, and Cap/Nova/Strange is soo good online. Cap itself does all the work, as people just get hit by him XD You can actually TAC into FoF loops using Nova’s assist inside your Cap combo.</div>
I feel like i know nothing about Dr Strange, this week i discovered that s.H, s.IP and cr.H are made safe with flying.<div><br></div><div>s.H, s.IP and cr.H have 22 frames of blockstun. flying has 22 frames of startup. unfly last 0-1 frames (Strange can unfly a Spell of vishanti on reaction post flash). so Strange can cr.H > flying > unfly and he will be in neutral situation. damn, time to start using this on my blockstrings…</div>
You can also try messing around with instant unfly IP, since it’s probably his most reliable air normal. Should make for some nice opportunities to frame trap opponents (besides those with jab AAs perhaps, like Magneto or Nova), since it has 6f startup. Not too sure about the startup on their AAs though, but try it out anyway.<br>
unfly > j.L is the faster option (5 frames startup)<div>j.S the slower and lazier option (9 frames startup), but safe if the other player use advancing guard</div><div>unfly > IP is out in 6 frames, probably not a great idea if the other player know this stuff, since the most of the jabs are out in 5-6 frames and just require some mashing. unfly + ip could take up 6-7-8-9 frames according to the player execution (fly input must be out the moment the hitbox touch the other character and unfly > j.IP must also be flawless for it to be out in -6 frames)</div><div><br></div><div>wolverine has 4 frames jab, firebrand 5 frames jab, zero is also pretty fast. in other words its not reliable against people/characters that you know will mash the s.L and will have frame advantage</div><div><br></div><div>unfly > land > s.IP/ground grab can be the real frame trap since strange can get a free grab or a crumple if the other player mash s.L and Strange chicken block</div>
Trying out Joe/Dante/Strange to see if I can do some Shocking Pink/RoR enders. Gotta love that unscaled/mashable damage for the cost of 1 bar.<div>Right now just toying with it through a IP loop since I don’t have the FoF loop down pat yet.</div><div><br></div>
I am currently running Nemesis/Dorm/Strange, and it is an awesome team, despite the zombie. I’ll rep him all my life. <br><br>However, the matchups against short characters suck. Like, really really suck, so I’m looking for someone to sub in on Joe, Jill, X-23, Arthur, Rocket, and some other bad matchups I can’t think of right now. So, who do people think are some optimal point characters for ___/Dorm (whatever, usually dark hole)/Strange (bolts)?<br><br>I’m open to nearly any character there, except some of the top tiers, Zero, Doom, Vergil specifically. My thought for best point there is Modok, trying to learn him but it’s going slowly, business in real life. Thought people here would know who works with bolts and Dormy.<br><br>Thoughts?<br>

Nova or Wesker <div><br></div><div>Preferably Nova because small characters will be under the BoB giving Nova great pressure opportunity with the instant overhead. Plus, Nova combos work on anyone and they’re easy</div>
Best assist(s) for strange? Also what should I do with strange backed up with jam session in the neutral.
Also a blocked SoV DHCed into Devil Trigger then weasel shot + bolts xx Trick is SOO grimy.
What character would benefit the most from a Dr Strange(bolts)/Vergil(rapid slash) shell?
Dante, Doom even?
I have another question haha, this character is just so interesting. During what circumstances is EoA assist more viable than bolts assist? For my team (Nova/Strange/Dante) I rarely see EoA as more useful than bolts, even against extremely rushdown heavy teams. Would anyone care to say that I’m wrong? I really want an excuse to try out the assist.
