So this is my first time playing a rekka character. Do you guys just mash that shit out or what? If there is some sort of timing to it, it must be pretty strange.

KBG is leaving a sour taste in my mouth… The low profile sometimes causes opponents to pass right over you, and you end up whiffing like a dork.
I guess cr. HP all day it is, then.

Should cl. HP be used for anti-crossup/short jumps?

You can mash it out pretty easily while also stopping to see if you hit the first. You still have to practice though.

They nerf Jump Roundhouse to expect us to use jump Fierce, fuck that Jump Roundhouse is still the preferred jump in…

Starting to see alot of character Specific bullshit with this character in this game…and why people hate some characters hurt boxes. Sakura…man…you must use :mp: rekka from a hit-confirm or the rekka will whiff or just not combo without using the EX if shes standing, crouching your cool…but yeah i’ve Been noticing this trend…

jump roundhouse isn’t that bad. At least you can get fuzzys off that and it actually hits things.

AAing crossups with her is a bitch. Anyone got any tips?

J.RH Is easily the best air-to-air option for poison.

I’ve been having tons of success with Early J.RH for Air to Air.

Focus backdash is probably the best option.

This goes back to something I was talking to @ShinOni‌ about. Anyone who bullies Poison can really overwhelm her into suppression.
( I.E Yun, Cody, Abel ,T.Hawk, Ken)

(I think I can safely say right now Yun is probabaly her worst matchup. ( But I’ll leave that for the match up discussion)

Honestly, I’m starting to think we may need to come up with a LOT of character-specific tech.

Maybe I should treat LMT like a divekick in blockstrings?

She has LMT, she has overhead, she has her cr. LK and cr. MK… I’m wondering now if rushdown is possible and I haven’t been paying attention.
Mixup mixup mixup, then back off and zone…

Poison feels more zoning crazy in this game compared to SFxT. She “can” rush down but it feels like she struggles a bit getting in. It could just me fighting randoms who don’t do anything worth basing off online but when I played matches with her last night, I did best just doing full screen zoning. If I went in, I generally felt pretty useless unless they were in the corner.

I need more offline matches before I can really give a solid suggestion on her. She has the tools but she just feels limited. Or rather she feels really inconsistent with her combos/moves/etc. (WoL hitting certain people, other nonsense happening.)

Her DPs really are “meh” now unless EX. I’m still going to fool with this though. I really want to believe online timing makes it hard to do a legit deep DP because HK KBG wasn’t cuttin it. (got blocked anytime I read a right jump in.) and MK/LK either got beat or didn’t reach to hit. After awhile I just resorted back to cr.HP, s.HK, and jumpback j.MP.

This is exactly how I feel. I think she was a lot more versatile in SFxT. It would also explain why she has 1000 health (players need to zone and play defensively).

I think she’s still hella versatile. She just has to work more to get in since there’s no fireball>CADC game to either bait jumps or to cancel normal pressure to get in. you just have focus for that now.

She can play decent footsies and even better now that both s.mk and cr.mk into rekka hits further than it did in SFxT. I just have to adjust out of SFxT poison mode.

Been playing Poison a lot, and gosh do I suck with her.

I have no clue how to get in on people, or how to keep them out effectively. As always for me, dive kick characters are a nightmare. For some reason I keep pressing cr.mp and I can’t space worth a damn.
Also, I find both her Ultra Combos very useless right now.

U1 is versatile (beats raw jump ins if you’re spacing is good.) and she has FADC>U1.

U2 right now is a punish Ultra with fatass damage. Might be matchup specific but it hasn’t been explored yet. (I was actually thinking it might be good against Rose for cr.MP>drill pressure.)

if you feel confused, just do some full screen fireball zoning and start from there. work your way in slowy to footsie range. From there you can do some cr.mk, cr.mp, s.mk>special.

She’s a gap closer. Mixup your fireballs and space to make them have to come in on you.

Good normal to keep your fingers towards are J.RH - St.RH - S.Mk - C.MP - J.Lk - St. MP
