Did you know she also has the rose issue with her ultra 1? Get hit anti airing and it trades for no damage.

If we can bring up stuff about her many issues, she’ll be buffed. Right now I think Decapre is the best of the bunch once people start pressuring with instant spiral arrows.

Hopefully if that is true we won’t get amazing buffs like throwing knife being armor breakers. I really think it is the exact opposite for Decapre, I think once people find about her stuff she would be even less of a threat at least compared to say Cammy, Ibuki and various other rushdown characters. This isn’t the place to discuss her though.

Today I was fighting someone and i did a cl.HP xx EX.LMT after Ex.WoL switch sides reset. The whole sequence did 500+ damage i think and the guy i was playing got super demoralized after that. I figured it may be a nice followup as it does a huge damage on hit and an advantageous position that would allow you to continue pressing after the reset, especially with ones where you switch sides.

Poison just evolved into top tier

I know everyone has been saying this but I love that alt.

They can mash anything after that or throw you after the follow up. I do that a lot.

I really don’t like that tatoo in that alt but it is really good alt.

I really like the changes you have suggested. with regards to improving her sweep do you think that reverting her sweep to being special cancellable (as in the beta versions and xT version) would help in any way? (see the combofiend exhibition video below)

You wouldn’t want any changes to her LMT? I would really like a faster start up (to make it easier to go over fireballs) - right now you almost have to preemptively predict a fireball for LMT to go over consistently (depending on the fireball). Also making LMT start up a little faster could potentially allow her to combo off of EX rekkas (similar to the EX LMT version). A faster LMT start up could also give her something to punish blocked Blanka Balls? I would also like the distance she moves forward on the HK and EX versions of LMT to be slightly increased. Perhaps they could make all versions of LMT have the same start up and give EX LMT its overhead property again?

I love the idea that LMT can cross up on crouching opponent, but this seems really tight and spacing dependant - would be awesome if they made it a little easier to cross-up with, however this would just be a nice pressure gimmick for Poison and not really necessary - Guessing the direction of the block by mixing non-cross up (LK) and cross-up (HK) on wakeup could be fun. They could obviously stand to avoid the cross up, but this gives Poison more options for using sweep I guess?

This might be a little Greedy, but maybe a little more juggle potential off of EX Rekkas (the damage scaling is bad anyways) - Combofiend used EX Rekkas, cr.HP, Lk LMT (at around 2:00 in the video) - it would be amazing if that were able to combo:

at around 2:08, 4:10, 4:48, 11:26, 11:34 and 11:38 you can see her sweep being special cancelled into AE. Honestly I do not know why they took this option away from Poison in the final build.

I like her lmts a lot. I feel as if it’s on the borderline if fair and complainable to the point of nerf. The normal ones have good beefy hitboxes, good high hurt boxes, are at worse -1 on block, and take off almost 200 plus a hard knockdown that gives perfect timing for a meaty and safe hp AE to continue pressure and corner push. EX is faster, comboable, takes off more, fully projectile invincible, and +2 on block. Her fireballs are really good too with the best recovery. They juggle into ultra, and have great on hit and on block frame data. Paired with her LMT give her a nasty fireball game.

The sweep isn’t the biggest deal because she has many ways to get a hard knockdown. But it does feel as if it was balanced with the special cancelability and they removed that without buffing everything else. So I wouldn’t mind either giving it back or buffing it like a traditional sweep like I suggested.

But ultimately I think her weakness is her anti air game. She has to be very precise with crouching hp, mk dp, ex dp, St.mp, far HK, close HK, St.mk. they tend to trade or flat out lose a lot of times, which sometimes makes it hard for an opponent to respect jumping in on her.

I agree with most of what you said. Her lmt is fairly balanced already, I feel if it were to gain better properties like distance or less recovery on whiff then it would have to trade in damage. Spot on with the sweep, I also feel like they didn’t readjust the move to take into account the loss of special cancelability.

For anti airing, I would love to be able to use her close st. hk as a command normal, kind of like what they did with Dan. I think the move has good enough active frames and hitboxes to be a useful/reliable anti-air. However it only does 40 dmg, unless you hit with the first 2(?) frames (for 70dmg instead). The 40 dmg though is offset somewhat by the ability to cancel the move into a (meaty) fb trap. I think it would help her a lot if we could use the move more freely. Plus its quite a sexy move.

I have to disagree on the anti-air issue. I guess playing Chun makes one really appreciate Poison’s anti-air’s. I really think cr.HP is a really good anti-air. st.Mp and far st.Hk are a little more situational, but considering that her fireballs could also be used as “anti-airs” I think she is pretty solid in that department. Throw out a HP AE, if they try jump it you have st.Hk.

EX LMT IS faster and comboable it does 10 extra points of damage compared to the normal LMT (190/200) - since the follow up comes out immediately it may be considered a little less useful for anything outside a combo ender (perhaps its a better pressure tool being +2 on block, just dont think its that worth it for the cost of meter). I just rarely see the need to combo into EX LMT off an EX rekka (which would use 2 bars and the damage scaling off ex Rekka is so bad). cl.HP into EX LMT may be a good punish BUT I also think saving the meter and using cl.hp into normal rekkas could do the job just as well.

I do agree that LMT may be considered one of Poison’s best specials. I would happily trade the damage for a faster startup (I think in xT LMT was only 150 damage anyway). I just rarely find the need to use EX LMT outside of being trapped in a corner and your opponent is tryna pressure you with a fireball (especially on wakeup).

edit: on a slightly related issue, does anyone know if Poison can combo off of a CH cr.HP? I know in xT you could (e.g. CH cr.Hp into lk LMT).

I believe CH cr.HP is only 0 on hit, so I don’t think you can link anything off of it.
