I’m starting to get used to Poison, and it’s becoming fun to use her.
But I was wondering if anyone else has the same problem.
I often get to wrong command. Sometimes when I do a fireball or U1 for that matter I get her overheard.
Sometimes when I do LMT I get her KBG… KBG!
This is iffy but, Once you have Ultra 2 stocked, you can land it off a blocked lmt if your opponent presses buttons. Smart opponents will start to back dash after eating that.
I think I need to start using this chain, cr.lk(or Jab) > clst.lk link c.fierce xx whatever. I’m sure it’s been discussed to death but it’s new to me. This works off jump in RH or crossup lk against ryu, so I assume it’s the bnb we should be using at this point.
Here’s some goofy stuff. c.lk, clstlk, c.lk, cr,lp, stmk xx ex rekka. just a goofy long combo, only seems to work on bigs.
Here’s a good meterless corner combo as well. j.Rh, s.Rh(1hit) xx mp fireball link(1f?) c.jab, clst.lk, cr.hp xx rekka. 362 damage 600 stun Damage scaling ruins any follow ups, but if you EX you get a 50/50 for guaranteed stun gg.
You can also do! j.Rh, s.Rh xx mp fireball link c.jab, clst.lk, cr.hp xx rekka (2nd hit) xx RFC, dash Repeat for 402 damage and 660 stun. Not worth the three bars. but still cool. You can probably get a litttttttle more stun if you do an ex rekka into something at the end.
Two more stun full stun setups.
jrh,strh. dp fadc delayed cr.fierce xx fierce fireball. st.rh xx ex dp, will 100% stun most chars. for 3 bars. It’s a tricky setup, I think you can do something like overhead > stlk link 2hit RH xx HK dp for full stun 50/50 setup as you could also start with a c.lk, st, lk blah blah blah. I’m not sure of this set ups viability.

I’m sure there a shit load more, but the general rule of thumb is, if you land a jump in rh or a focus you can do st.rh , dp fadc, into a normal reset. Almost any mixup off this will stun someone if it’s beefy enough.
Has anyone noticed that with her U2, when it whiffs it creates about a character space between the opponent and you?
The only other grappler ultra I have used has been Hakan, so I’m like what?
All jumps have 4 landing frames where the player can’t rejump. U2 can grab these frames.
Easiest application is as a reversal on wake up against safe jumps. So Ryu can’t sweep, jump hk, because he gets grabbed when he lands.
Its use as a punish against regular jump ins is more limited. If the jump is deep enough you can AA with it similar to Akuma U1. Otherwise you’ll activate too early and get hit.
An improvement is to U2 during a crouch lower your hurtbox to allow a later activation. This is kinda difficult but seems worth it to get U2 damage.
I guess it makes sense since ultra 1 is a fireball itself and you can only have 1 fireball on screen at a time. Now what I find stupid about ultra 1 is the fact that it gets canceled out completely by regular fireballs.
Not a shortcut. But allows you to as he said, activate it later against a jump in attack to guarantee you don’t get hit by the jump in and that you get the grab during the activation frames.
Still risky. But if you got those reads i’m not saying don’t do it.
I need serious help with this character right now, my last 2 days with her have been nothing but loss after loss after loss with the occasional win in between. I really don’t know what it is that I’m doing wrong with her. I go from dominating matches to losing 10 in a row. Hopefully I’m not posting this in the wrong place but if I am, my bad lol.
