I already know that Rocket and Vergil have good synergy, but I don’t know Dante. I’d try looking into how low someone has to be on screen for you to confirm off of a Jam Session assist with Log Trap, and see how long you have to set up unblockables with it.

I kinda want to try Zero / RR / Vergil.

One problem. I can get around the screen fine with Dante and Amaterasu especially with RR’s spitfire (mannnn it’s a awesome assist). Problem is I can’t get around the screen that well with RR. I know a few teleport mix-ups using Ammy to back 'im up but I still get blown up too much when trying to get around. Any tips on movement (rocket skates, teleports, etc.) with RR?

Dante/RR/Strider could also work

I’m a scrub, BUT,

cr.H is a great tool for setting up RR’s mobility because it’s special cancelable. When you throw out a cr.H, it can be canceled into Rocket Skates, Burrow, f.H (don’t spit by accident), traps, spitfires, Hopper, etc. You can also use this to cover assist calls - if you ever do this to make them block Ammy (or Dante I’d assume), go for the unblockable.

Rocket Skates in particular gives you a bunch of options since they are also special cancelable. If you want to maintain pressure, cancel a cr.H into an up-back Skates, then cancel that into an L Spitfire. If you want to run away, cancel it into a Skate tridash (back, up back, down back OR up-back, down-back to make it look like you’ll spitfire). Also remember that if you call an assist and Rocket Skates for a crossup, you can fake it at the last moment by Rocket Skating back to the original side.

Another trick to add to Rocket Skates is using a dash and/or f.H just before Rocket Skating. You can hold forward and quickly hit L+M, H, L+S (or something similar, many inputs work) to sorta double kara cancel off a dash and a Wild Ripper into Skates. It almost moves you full screen, it’s pretty cool. This is a great habit to get into when going for unblockables just in case you got pushblocked too far for a single Rocket Skates to get you point blank.

RR has a lot of other movement tools to “mesmerize” the opponent and mask his intentions when it comes to mobility. H Burrows, low altitude float cancels (up +up), Boulder Trap, tridashes (super jump, Rocket Skates down, down back, or down forward), etc all have utility and allow you to dance around the screen relatively safely. Also, never forget that RR has normal dashes as well as his Rocket Skates. They are much safer than Rocket Skates in the neutral.

Like I said, I’m a low-level player but I find these things to work for me so I hope this helps =)

Sorry this is a really late reply. I haven’t been to my local lately because of finals / school / etc, but next time I do I’ll mention to my friend who plays Joe / RR / Vergil that there’s someone in the RR forums asking for RR / Vergil synergy.

I’ve tried 'im out but I never felt that I’d be that good with Strider outside from the 1 or 2 bnbs I knew. That and I didn’t like 'im as an anchor cause outside of lvl3 x-factor I got blown up trying to play 'im without it. Though I have seen Oreo make that team work and when it works, it works beautifully.

Also some random scrub tech - some super ghetto stuff you can do with RR is Team Super, Xfactor, then go for the unblockable. I use it after I turn Phoenix dark or against anchor Strider/etc on incoming. I use a Boulder Trap to OTG after Ammy’s super causes a hard knockdown. Dante’s Team Super probably works as well, but not against characters that have air mobility vs incoming.

The big problem is that follow-up combos are limited if you can’t do Boulder loops (which I can’t lol), so I only do it against Dark Phoenix or characters with low health.

There’s definitely tech w/ Cap / RR. I’ve used that team before. RR + unibeam is good, and Cap + Unibeam is the best shell for Cap. Good luck with fliers though :slight_smile:

Gonna try messing with Wesker / RR / Sent tonight with my simple mode buddy who is also trying a new team. Seemed fun in training mode lol.

So Dante/RR/Ammy’s pretty fun. Even starting to win a match or two. Was wondering if anyone’s on Xbox cause I need a training bud or two. I’ve found out some things but I know I ain’t gonna full learn it till I try it out in some battles so was wondering if anyone’d be up for a few fights. Trying ma best to really learn RR… and to work on ma Ammy as well. Only character I feel semi-confident in is Dante lol Soooo yeah anyone interested hit me up.
