Perfect example of why st.hk being toned down really isn’t that big of a deal. At the highest level it’s not as important as some might believe outside of vs Sagat, Gief, and Abel. It gets Akuma players who spam it in MORE trouble than it actually helps.

Anyway, Sagat is getting toned down, and I’m sure he’ll still be fine vs the other two.

Any nerf sucks. Thing is, we really don’t know the full impact of this change short of sitting down with Super for a few weeks and seeing how much of a difference in practice it really makes.

I see what you’re saying though and I tend to agree. I played a lot of games last night and it wasn’t a heavily used tool HOWEVER I did call on it a lot against Rufus from FADC’d balls into s.hk, c.lp, lk tatsu, etc. Food for thought. I guess in place of that s.hk, I could substitute a c.mp though it does lose the ability to stand opponents up.

Anywho. I guess we’ll wait and see.

I think Gief is gonna be the top in SSF4. It doesn’t sound as though he’s getting any nerf and he gets an ultra that combos on trade. lol

Every time I watch those japanese Akumas I feel like Im watching a WWF fight. Everything is so perfectly timed to the point it looks fake.

They never miss the timing of a demon flip after a knockdown, their block strings aways work perfectly, they dont eat random shoryukens etc.

Even though, I know thats just me bitching about how much my playing sucks. :crybaby:

I think it was said they were going to add a frame of startup, just to throw off the sf.lp link.
A FADC situation should still work.

As it stands hadoken FADC fs.hk is a 1 frame link. In SSF4 they’re adding 1 or 2 frames to the startup of the fs.hk and this will make the fadc followup impossible.

Yeah but Im not sure what Eita was thinking with that random EX srk (2:52), pretty sure he meant to do ex fireball instead. That mistake pretty much cost him the game.

Just a quick question guys (sorry if it’s too noobish, but it would clear some stuff for me), watch the video between 2:43 - 2:53

When Eita knocks down the Ryu, he jumps on him on his wakeup, wouldn’t that be a bad idea against a 3 frame SRK opponent? Because from what I know, you can’t safe jump characters with 3 frame SRKs, specially since the the Ryu already had ultra too. Did the Ryu player just assume that Akuma might use Demon palm and it would be fast enough to block his SRK?
