I was about to say the same thing, but you beat me to it.
nice.
About the resets- is there no way to get out of the reset -> immediate lk demon flip -> air throw?
I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone get out of that.
– edit –
Nevermind, Fuudo just did. He jumped backwards. How come he was able to do that that time?
BnB reset lk demon flip can be risky against Ryu when he has his ultra/super because of the trade with SRK. But Ive always found resets useful when used sparingly.

I like the way Tokido uses the FA on the last round of the third set. First, he crosses through a fireball, then immediatly charges another FA to crumple Fuudo and land the Ultra. Sweet!
The way you worded this made it sound like he did a cross-up air fireball and focus attacked lv2 as it was hitting into demon, to be honest THAT had me excited. But of you’re just talking about lv3 focusing a poke in a corner.
Sorry for disappointing you.
Tokido made a risky strategy, but it payed off very well. He insisted on using focus to break through Fuudos attacks, that takes balls imo.
I guess Fuudo wasnt expecting the focus to break his defense, which explains why he stood still instead of trying to counter attack.
Re: the Tokido videos. Is there a particular reason why he uses crouching strong for resets after BnB and not close standing fierce?
Only thing I can think of is that crMP has 3 active frames vs. clstHP having only 2, so it might be easier to cancel, but that doesn’t make a ton of sense considering their level of skill shrug clstHP might turn into far st.HP instead though which wouldn’t cancel into demon flip, that’s probably it.
Beautiful set. Barely any cross up tatsu. The way Tokido crosses up Fuudo all day with demon flip palm whiff to his other side into combo is sick.
These matches should be a study guide for how to beat Ryu players. I think Tokido has this fight down better than Momochi does.
Edit - Yall saw how Tokido barely took any damage off that super by doing neutral jump fierce instead of neutral jump fireball?
Preference. c.MP works no matter how far away the other guy it.
c.MP leaves you with more options as you have time to walk backwards, as well as it being generally easier to hit (imo).
You can always jump out of the flip throw
The grab is easy to escape from if anticipated, but it is the easiest to land if your foe does nothing since the natural reaction is to block. Now there are other things you can do if your foe starts to avoid the grab.
