Better footsies for one. Elita was using the crouching roundhouse way too much,and Diago took advantage of it. He also should respect Ryu’s ultra a bit more.
I’m hearing you. Ryu is a very tough match when he’s being driven by a capable player. You have to be really on to deal with him and play extremely carefully.
I have no ‘go-to’ options against him so I find I have to play each second as it unfolds. When Ryu screws up I throw absolutely everything I have into a response to try and get a leg up.
I will say this though, playing a good Ryu really brings out the best in my Akuma I think - even when it doesn’t go in my favour.

he can be a pain in the ass for akuma
as a akuma player you will always need more skill to stand a chance against a ryu

Yeah nice move. But it’s tricky. I tried that recently (Teleport -> Demon) and obviously did the demon a little too early since I got roasted when I reached Blanka.

While I believe Ryu has a very slight edge on Akuma, this match up is almost completely about skill.
And unfortunately Daigo is one of the most skilled around.

i still believe momochi is a better player but he doesnt got the experience daigo got
