We already defeated Sheng-long! The Akuma Video Thread

Daigo loses all the time, get your head out of his ass and you’d probably see this.

I love how people give the excuse they aren’t trying when they loose. It’s the ultimate bitch move to try and discredit another person when in fact they just plain lost. Seriously that and Daigo fanboys seriously make me lol everytime I see a post about it. He’s really good at fighting games but there’s no reason to be on that rod so hard.

Fanboys in general need to fall back.

When u make an excuse like that (“I wasn’t trying”), to me, they don’t necessarily respect themselves in terms of actually growing as a player, and they don’t respect their opponent so that either of them can actually leave the match learning something. If you’re going to make an excuse like that, you might as well just play something else if that’s the case.

Hopefully that was confusing or a bit vague, because I sorta got that feeling as I was typing it :xeye:

EDIT: And to add to the whole “he was average” thing, that same player would probably run train on most of us here. We don’t know what he was going through mentally or why he reacted the way he did.

i saw those videos and though he was pretty good, i think people forget that akuma has such little life sometimes

You guys are idiots if you think Daigo isn’t beatable. He loses all the time, it’s just that when he is over in the states he beats our asses. You guys think Daigo just figures to take a match easy and let the other guy win? Right, how many times do YOU play online and NOT try to win.

Tards.

Daigo is the best player in the world in my opinion, but he’s fighting against tons of people who are arguably tied for 2nd best(or better in some’s eyes) and RIGHT THERE with him. This is how Japan works guys.

and I had the same thoughts when I saw that Akuma. My friend did, too. I did not watch all of the fights because the one fight I saw, Eita played so poorly that I was absolutely positive I would have done better. He played like crap, period. It happens. People have bad days, but it doesn’t mean we can’t comment on those bad days with honesty. I’m sure Eita is worthy of his number 18 rank, but he didn’t show it in the match I saw, where he DID look like a G2 Akuma.

Please don’t patch me for speaking my mind. All love, right?

Keep in mind with Daigo:

He has what’s probably the highest win ratio of all the top ranked players there.

Saying he’s not trying is pushing it, but people do have off days where they know they can play better. Daigo plays what? 7 hours a day? try to keep your A game across that length of time. Dipping in form is not a stretch for anyone.

Not to back the fanatic Daigo talk, but for those who claim he plays sixth fiddle to every top Japanese player out there and it’s just a myth from how he does in USA. They’re all able to match him up there, but he’s definately right up with their best 2 or 3 in my mind, if not overall number 1.

Nanashi vs Daimaou Keisuke (RU)

Pretty good defense from Keisuke.

ummmm no… if you could play nearly that well you’d be a household SF4 name in America. Eita was outplayed that match more mentally that execution wise which is why you think you might have done better but the answer is definitely no. There is no Akuma in America who could have done that well. When it comes to that lvl execution is a given and it comes down to mindgames. Eita lost at that set of mind games. In later sets he wins a few. Really people if you could play at grandmaster Gouki level you would be in Japan making money with it. Haha I lol’d when I hear that people think they could have done better that watching someone in a vid but hindsight is always 20/20 (well since ryu did this I would’ve done ___) is something anyone could have said but you weren’t in the moment so you don’t know what you would or wouldn’t have done. (the dude has around a 73% win rate in fucking Japan) Yeah sure anyone can fuck up but seriously none of us could hope of doing better against arguably one of the best tacticians in fighting game mindgames.

yes, this is how most akuma vs rufus matches go

Here’s a link to my last losers match against a Rog. I just picked up Akuma around 3 weeks ago as an alt (coming from Cammy) because I wanted to start playing in arcades more often.

Any constructive criticism and suggestions would be appreciated. I realize taht I could have bnbd of the numerous demon flip kicks I landed…but for soem reason went for a grab…I think I got nervous and my brain froze. Bleh my execution needs work.

if he throws ex rushes at you from mid-full screen, throw it.

there was a time when you spend 20-30 secs throwing full screen fbs at him, and he just neutral jumped every time while you sat on super and ultra. you couldve fadc’ed a fireball, inched in, and demoned him on his way down from the neutral jump since he kept doing it.

learn the tatsumaki crossup, so when you get a knockdown you can create problems for rog.

other than that, you did alright, just didn’t block too well (i have trouble playing turtle rogs myself, so i cant critique you too hard)

 he did not want to die

yeah I wish I rushed him down a bit more…tatsumaki crossup is something I am trying to integrate…Akuma has so many tools compared to Cammy (she has like 3 effective specials) that i forget to keep track of them all.

wait…let me get this straight…fireball, FADC(f), demon? That would have to be in a situation like in the vid where I completely anticipate the neutral jump right?

I’ve decided to put Cammy on hold and going to full-time Akuma.

traitor

Anyone got that Zangief v Akuma video where the Akuma has the lead and runs away for the last round? The Zangief does everything he can to catch him but hes not able to. I saw it a while ago so I forgot the players names…anyone know what im talking about?

Daigo Trying

Why are u posting Ryu videos in an akuma thread

So I saw the sets between Daigo and Eita; can’t believe some of the Eita bashing in here.

Folks not paying attention to the moves Daigo is making here? Eita was getting kicked for every slight little indescision, let alone legitimate defensive frailties so common out here. The guy got shut down by Daigo (which starts to create additional mistakes) and you can only show the camera what the opponent allows you. Some of you guys really think you would get Eita to the stage where such openings would be around to exploit? or put up a better fight against Daigo’s Ryu?

Again, it’s hindsight 20/20. There’s a lot of subtle stuff going on in there that’s much harder to follow in a match than it is to watch on a vid. In reality western matches are like slow motion compared to some of those sets.

G2 standard it is not, average it is not. (although at times it did look embarrassing) I’m sure there were enough Rufus players who must’ve thought they were the dogs bollocks when Justin Wong got swept at the Gamestop exhibition.
