We already defeated Sheng-long! The Akuma Video Thread

Props from THE Gilley, I’ll take it haha. But yeah when recording game footage and stick footage simultaneously, I mute the game audio on my speakers to prevent audio bleeding through the stick footage, and to sync it up I usually do something simple before like a countdown, then hit down like 10 times and up 10 times in the menu. Then I throw them in vegas and line up the wavforms, edit them and get them prepped for after effects.

Nice Vid!!!

I’m have much training to do, lol.

OK yeah, that’s what I was planning on doing…matching the waveforms.

At the end when you do the silly things. it looks like you combo into supers/ultra’s. Is this because the comp isn’t reacting correctly or is this possible in a real match. I sometimes did hit a opponent (with LP or HP or DP) and still got the super or ultra. but i think it depends on the reaction of the opponent.

Your vids are very cool, i really liked your combo vid. With the demon vids i really like the reversals, its very useful.

None of those work, the point of those demons at the end is for a laugh. If you hit anyone with those demons you’re either a magician or your opponent wasn’t smart enough to just jump.

Had quite a few matchup’s with my friend today, here’s the link for one of the matches. Will post the other one’s once their finished uploading.

Top-notch videos.Good shit.

Heya. I’ve been browsing this forum for a while now and just registered. I posted a few matches of mine on youtube. They’re nothing like the pros i’ve seen using Akuma but I managed to nail some badass combos.

Check these out.

VS Sakura:
(Combos at the end of the first round and beginning of second)

VS Gen:
(Combos all the way…)

VS Balrog:
(Balrog is friggin annoying !!)

VS Abel:
(Combos during the match)

VS Sagat:
(Most combos at the end of first round and second)

VS Honda:
(Second match was insane, almost perfect)

I’m still looking for new combos to use, and this thread helped me out to find new ones

Great Raging Demon video, quite useful.

I see youre playing the PC version, but the textures are running in low quality. Hows your PC setup?

Medium quality when I record because fraps hogs resources, and I need 60fps video. Runs fine on high quality settings when I’m not recording, but I actually like the stripped down models a bit more since there’s less visual flash to distract me.

I only play the PC version to record tutorials however.

Enjoy, let me know what I’m doing wrong please.

You need a lot of work on your execution. When you get a hit in, you have to make it count with Akuma or it will cost the game for you. Also, don’t be as random. Utilize your fireballs, you barely used any as zoning tactics for that match. Don’t be afraid to sit and calculate what to do. If you’re in Bison’s face, stay there and bait out the EX psycho crusher and reposition. You ate a lot of his forwards and roundhouses, don’t try to beat Bison in the sweep game. Zone him out or get into his face and use tick throws to initiate setups. Don’t try to use standing fierce as a hit confirm because it is unsafe, if you’re not sure if you can combo off of it, don’t use it. Use jab or strong as a hit confirm because they are both safe attacks that can combo into BnB.

Using focus attacks is risky on Bison too, because he has a lot of options to 2-in-1 you for using it.

I was wondering whats the point of doing a sweep instead of HP shoryuken after lk tatsu.

Ive seen a lot of japanese players (including Momochi) doing it, although the damage is considerably smaller. The only reason that comes to my mind is that it might be easier for you to keep pressuring your opponent, since the recovery time seems to be faster.

It gives a tactical advantage in exchange for guaranteed damage.

Since after sweep your foe is unable to do a fast stand it allows you to set up your wake up game. It is useful after a large combo where the HP.SRK isn’t going to yield that much more damage. For instance you will usually see Momochi use it against a Sagat player after a long HK > LP loop.

Remember guaranteed damage is nice, but there are times it is better to take a lower guaranteed for a tactical advantage.

I didnt know it was impossible to do fast stand after sweeps, now I understand the whole thing. Even so, its just so much harder to land it after lk tatsu… Guess Ill start practicing it a bit more.

Yes after sweeps and throws it is impossible to fast stand. Thus giving you time to get into position to harass them as they get up.

The timing seems a little awkward, but after some practice it should come naturally.

That’s not what I saw in Street F*cker 4. Haha, so glad I noticed that next to the SGS Tutorial coz here I thought I was the only one.

By “missing an FADC” I meant it not all registering correctly to land, wherever the trouble.

Haha, well that was before I learned the secret to FADC, which happened about three weeks later.

A couple of vids from our most recent tourney. More to come!
