We already defeated Sheng-long! The Akuma Video Thread

Lmao, funny shit west.

Is there any difference between the K (kick i presume) and the Punch teleport?
But it does look like a nice strat, i will try to try it sometimes

Punch travels further and has a longer recovery.

Weekly tournaments? Man…you guys are leveling up way quicker than probably anyone else in the US. We were trying to get to at least bi weekly events in our area but that hasn’t come through yet. Hard to get Viper consistent when you don’t get put under any real pressure but once a month.

Well, keep in mind this is on arcade cabinet. We could be leveling up a lot faster and a lot better, but people need to start caring a bit more for that to happen. I don’t discount the power of console gatherings though, you level up a lot by doing that too, but you only learn how to handle pressure from tournaments.

When you say we are you talking about the players in TX or the US as a whole? Yeah that’s the thing…you can only really learn how to execute and perform consistently through tourneys.

Well the players in my scene particularly, not all of TX or all of US. We’re progressing decently in the game, but Houston’s so spread out in general, along with the rest of TX.

Did anyone cap any vids of Akuma humiliating flowchart types?

I’ll give you 500 imaginary dollars if you can pull this off in a match!

Just had a Best of 3 Series on XBL against a Sim player.

Me beating up on Sagat –

It was a joke, someone actually sent that video to me, and I sent it to him for lulz. He then put it up on youtube because he’s awesome.

Hey, Ultima, when are we gonna have the second part of “Akumas Comboratory”?

yeah ultima…are we there yet?

Thanks for your flowchart-killing vids. The main difference you guys have over me is (apart from your connections, it appears) is your flawless execution. LordofUltima also appears plenty more experienced.

Now I know about how important execution is to be on point and I should be 100% on everything I can etc etc. In all those vids I watched I dunno if I even saw a single missed link and I definately didn’t see a missed FADC ender. That just seems unreal to me, I can link and all but I do miss a lot more links than you guys seem to be doing. Late SRK’s in underwater connections that I eat fat combos for, putting up with unsafe move into SRK 7 times a round, eating combos when teleport gives me a sweep, eating counter hit sweeps when I’m crouch guarding… all things that seem to be in a different land to you guys who only need one chance to capitalise.

Now those things I could excuse with connection qualities, but I don’t honestly feel everything would magicly be rosey if I was playing offline either. The other thing is the oposition, because it’s not just lag/execution that’s letting me down, it’s these guys without ability or respect for the game that are just mind game artists regardless.

This is the kind of flowchart opponent I was hoping to find a gimmick he wouldn’t be able to handle (because they usually don’t know how to learn) and ride it home:

Obviously I’m using a completely different approach to Phil, and don’t attempt every link online into an SRK which I know is coming just because I should be linking. The dynamics of the match would probably be much different, but the issues are similar. Add in a spoonful of this:

Minus the impatience, (most of) the rage and the excuses; but consider some of the execution problems and resulting momentum against me.

Another thing with trying to open up the bag of tricks more is that despite execution, slowdown, erratic responses, whatever; no one I play ever needed to learn to block cross-ups when they can just auto-correct their reversals for a respectable risk:reward instead. Cross-up Tatsu’s, I’ve found, are far from immune to this.

Replace the LP Shoryu’s on impatient jump-ins in that last vid with Shoryu’s auto-corrected against cross-ups.

Yeah, I wanted to get some strats or something more subtely than this, because I know that on SRK losing to erratic flowcharts or blaming online for flawed execution (or anything for that matter) are huge taboos that get you ridiculed straight out the door, but I’m venting on this now.

Sure, I beat the laughable full-screen Ultra types, bait uppercuts, wait for them to jump into my fist and whatnot; but for me, there are like Super-flowcharts where the game seems to literally bend its own rules to suit them. With all problems mentioned, plus when you’re facing Ken’s who reverse you with EX DP, which does the same proportional damage to you as the punishing combo you get when you block, eating Ultra’s when Shoryu whiffs after Tatsu etc. it’s hard to keep up in damage output with these guys sometimes.

Venting continued:

(not to be read if you do not tolerate rage-fuelled complaints)

You know what else? FUCK those laggy flowchart Guiles!

I swear, you press one button, one fucking button in the block stun of that double sweep; you eat the second sweep. period.

Consequently you have to sit there and let him get away with abusing it. Notice his passive, inactive response after they’re both blocked? yeah, but don’t you dare try a thing; because if you do, however impossible it is for them to react, out comes EX Flash Kick the one time you did as if by magic. The event transmitted directly to your disbelieving eyes.

Oh and the laggy, walk-up throw abuse? it’s always a loooooong walk over to you. You sit there, crouched as they gradually waddle over to you in what seems like an eternity. The back of your mind screaming at you to do something before he throws you, but you dare not budge under the intense delay, less you lose to a magic walk-up sweep from him.

He get’s there… eventually. You know it’s coming, you mash tech; and sure enough, he throws you. Rinse and repeat times infinity.

Don’t hate on me, I endure this shit so you don’t have to. :grrr:

you suck ballsakz.

fake talk. good shit.
